harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 3, 2006 This is a tasty porter. Grea fruity nose, that also smells of some oak and chocolate. Nice level of rastiness, slightly bittersweet with some vinous stone fruit flavors and a bit of caramelized burnt characteristics like a spanish style of dessert wine would have. Almost like an oloroso. Stand up body and decent levels maltiness, make this very enjoyable. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 19, 2005 Dark brown with light edges. Creamy tan head and good lace. Choclate and roast with a slightly vinous touch. Bitter hops. The flavors contain the same vinous qualities with some oakiness. Roast malts are abundant. Finish of cocoa and bitter hops. BückDich (4605), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 9, 2005 Sampled draught at Mt Hood Brewing, Government Camp
Dark brown, tan head, light lacing. Nose of fresh strawberries & fruity hops, nice roast levels. The flavor is oaky, full of roast & dry sherry type tastes. The finish is dry but with a large body. Good! DA (2586), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Mar 9, 2005 On tap at the KLCC Brewfest as part of the collaboration project. Pours very dark brown, almost black with a medium brown head. Rich roasted coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate and licorice. Taste starts sweet with a mocha start followed by a oaky licorice finish, mildly bitter with a touch of smoke in the roast. A very nice Porter from the collaboration project at the KLCC.
