Black with medium vanilla head, reddish highlights. Not much aroma until you take a sip and the roasty smoked malt flavor comes out clearly.

Draft pour pint at the Ski lodge. Never been skiing before, but the lodges have beer, so Iím all in. Pours a dark reddish brown with a thin fizz head. Very gentle aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is just hinted with smokey malt, and has a mild chocolate porter background. Flavor is less bold than I would like to see, but overall a nice beer. Enjoyed this.

Draught at the brewpub; 4.8% ABV
Dark brown color, almost black, with beige creamy head. The aroma is too light, the mouthfeel is weak, but it has a nice chocolate flavor, and a tiny hint if smoke. Dry finish.

This black beer has an aroma of coffee liqueur. It has a complex flavor of sweetened coffee and an almost fruity finish. One of the better porters I've tasted.
