An American style wheat mixed with blackberry juice and a touch of our Steam Engine Stout to create this dark fruity ale

We donít want to toot our own horn, but we will anyway. This brew is another top seller. Created by accident, a chance blending of raspberry wheat and stout, we recreated this crowd pleaser for distribution. Call it a mad scientist production, call it a miracle, call it dumb luck if you want; we call it serendipity. To those that claim they can only drink one fruit beer or that they donít enjoy them at all, please give this one a try. The blackberries are deliciously subtle giving this wheat ale/stout blend just that little something extra that keeps them coming back for more. Easy drinking by itself or, like the raspberry wheat, a great beer to enjoy with dessert.

Reddish brown pour. Lots of berries and malt in the aroma. Flavor is too sweet...tons of fruit and sugar. Over the top.

Brown pour. The aroma is loaded with berryish sweetness over a bit of cocoa. Chewy lingering fruity flavour... meh. Itís kind of Plain Jane really.

Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks decent; a transparent blackberry brown with light beige head. Smells wheaty and malty with mild notes of blackberry. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced. Average (at best) on the palate. Eh.

Sampled at a The LoSBD meeting, thanks to RAYBOY01: This had a brown body with a beige head - making it difficult to believe itís based on a Stout. What I got was candy berries in the nose and candy berries in the flavor. I had two heavily salted radishes (a The LoSBD thing) to cleanse my palate after this one.

Bottle: The aroma consists of light blackberry, roast, and faint grass. It pours a slightly hazy brownish-orange with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with mild blackberry and grass. The finish has the slightest hint of roastiness. Light-medium bodies with moderate carbonation.
