COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American style wheat mixed with blackberry juice and a touch of our Steam Engine Stout to create this dark fruity ale

We don’t want to toot our own horn, but we will anyway. This brew is another top seller. Created by accident, a chance blending of raspberry wheat and stout, we recreated this crowd pleaser for distribution. Call it a mad scientist production, call it a miracle, call it dumb luck if you want; we call it serendipity. To those that claim they can only drink one fruit beer or that they don’t enjoy them at all, please give this one a try. The blackberries are deliciously subtle giving this wheat ale/stout blend just that little something extra that keeps them coming back for more. Easy drinking by itself or, like the raspberry wheat, a great beer to enjoy with dessert.

Draft. Aroma has notes of blackberry, chocolate and roasted malts. Very dark ruby amber hue that sits almost black with an average off-white head. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter and a little sour. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation. Wow, what an amazing beer. Wonderful chocolate and fruit flavors. Loved it.

Bottle from Siciliano;s under the Mt. Pleasant label. Cloudy dark brown with red tint and creamy, beige, medium head. NIce berry aroma with slight sourness, and medium malt sweetness. Flavor is sweeter berry with same tartness, only slight grain/tannin, livable though, slight mango. Medium and well carbonated. Real tasty, real solid, I can dig it.

Draft pour. Reddish-brown in color, opaque. Leaves a touch of lacing. Blackberries in the nose with some roasted malt aroma. Medium in body, smooth, with a short palate-cleaning finish. Sweet with blackberries and balanced with a touch of roasted/earthy bitterness. Unique. Enjoyable as a summer brew!

Kind of misleading since there are no actual blackberries here as I was told at the brewpub...12 oz bottle...Dark ruby red with very little head. Aroma is raspberry jam. Flavor is tart raspberries up front, then some chocolate and roast malts at the finish. Lively carbonation. Really a nice combination of the stout and raspberry ale in that you can taste characteristics of both beers. Very tasty.

Sampled twice at the MBGF. Pours a dark shade of amber with a trim off white head. Smells of berries, for sure. Tastes thin, but full of blackberry flavor and almost like buttery popcorn. Very approachable.

On tap. Pours dark brown with a white head; looks very cola-like. Aroma has some roast and hints of berries and sweetness. Flavor has a smoky roastiness with juicy dark berry flavor that gets stronger as it warms. Quite enjoyable.

tap at the brewpub, Jul 21, 2012 - Pours dark amber-brown with a small head. There’s a good blackberry aroma with a touch of roasted malt. It tastes sweet with the blackberries the most dominate flavor. The stout is a good addition, bringing a stronger, more flavorful malt body to this fruit beer. It’s medium bodied and finishes with some bitterness. Pretty solid. To my surprise I think it was the best of my samples at the brewpub.

Draft. Roasty cola and sweet blackberry aroma. Chestnut with a small beige head. Sweet fruity blackberry and light roasty malt flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Blackberry and chocolate malt aroma. Reddish brown color with small head. Sweet-tart blackberry and light chocolate malt flavor. Medium body. Light but nicely drinkable.
