COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American style wheat mixed with blackberry juice and a touch of our Steam Engine Stout to create this dark fruity ale

We don’t want to toot our own horn, but we will anyway. This brew is another top seller. Created by accident, a chance blending of raspberry wheat and stout, we recreated this crowd pleaser for distribution. Call it a mad scientist production, call it a miracle, call it dumb luck if you want; we call it serendipity. To those that claim they can only drink one fruit beer or that they don’t enjoy them at all, please give this one a try. The blackberries are deliciously subtle giving this wheat ale/stout blend just that little something extra that keeps them coming back for more. Easy drinking by itself or, like the raspberry wheat, a great beer to enjoy with dessert.

Bottle purchased at Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI in December, 2011 and rated on 4-25-2012. Poured a small smooth, fizzy beige head with a slight pink tint. Fair amount of lacing, transparent body, very, very fizzy carbonation and fast rising as well, and a brownish hue. The Aroma was sweet, sour, tart, and hints of blackberries. The Flavor was sweet, acidic, sour, and hints of blackberries here and there. The Mouthfeel was tingl and this is a medium bodied Fruit beer. Overall, the Aroma outshined the Flavor as the flavor was totally off kilter to where it ended up being a drainpour. I don’t know if it was a bad batch or what, but nonetheless, I could not finish my pour.

This poured a purplish light brown color with a beige head. Aroma was light roast, and artifical raspberries. Flavor was similar,a basic overly sweetened fruit beer with a light blend of stout.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy light brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a typically carbonated transparent dark cola brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was berry and dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of berry and dark malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

tap at the brewpub, Jul 21, 2012 - Pours dark amber-brown with a small head. There’s a good blackberry aroma with a touch of roasted malt. It tastes sweet with the blackberries the most dominate flavor. The stout is a good addition, bringing a stronger, more flavorful malt body to this fruit beer. It’s medium bodied and finishes with some bitterness. Pretty solid. To my surprise I think it was the best of my samples at the brewpub.

Bottle. Pours a very dark purple with just a little bit of color showing through when held up to a light. Huge light tan head. Took forever to pour into pint glass. Good lacing. Aroma of tart berries. Flavor of roast and berries. Didn’t realize this was going to be part stout. Medium palate. Interesting beer. So far this and the Iron Horse IPA are my favorites from this brewery.

Indistinguishable "berry" addition to very average stout. Dark purple color, thin body and minimal head. Wouldn’t buy again.

Twelve ounce bottle that pours a dark brown with little head. Aroma of rancid black berries that isn’t too pleasent on the palate.
