COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American pale ale with full hops flavor and aroma

Don’t be shy, try it. Like any good I.P.A. this one has plenty of hop presence but not so much that it is not approachable by our hop-weary friends. Instead of biggering and biggering like so many I.P.A.s these days we are keepin’ it real with a beer that will make you want to drink more than just one. Don’t worry though, hops heads, this beer still has enough bite to cut through any spicy dish you might want to pair it with. Try one, or five, with buffalo wings or a spicy blackened chicken dish. Iron Horse can also go quite well with shrimp, crab, or other light fish, so we have heard from a few of our loyal patrons. So, belly up and try Iron Horse if you have ever wondered what a good I.P.A is like. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

On draft, Schlafly Beer Fest. An abysmal example of an IPA - tasted more like a commercialized (like Bud or Coors?) version of a Pale Ale. Hops were virtually unnoticed, and what there was left me scratching my head. English or American style (as advertised). Along with MP’s Train Wreck, the only beers I dumped and couldn’t finish at the Fest.

Clear copper with a short white head. Aroma is caramel, faint pine and floral hops. Mild to bitterness, some hops..but not too much.

Bottle. Piney orange hops and caramel malt aroma. Hazy orange amber with a large ivory head. Resinous piney hops and weedy dandelion flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Could use some malt balance.

Thanks jsquire. Pours a soft copper amber with one finger of sandy tan head. Herbal notes in the nose with a soft leafy quality and a bready character. Diacetyl comes through with notes of caramel malt. A slight toasted bread character and sweetness shows through as well. Medium in body with a sharp finish.

Bills itself as a balanced ipa and that is what it is. Not going to win awards but it is drinkable. Contrary to the description I am content with one. Berry sweet aroma, slight grassiness, mellow flavor, medium to low bitterness.

A thick and hoppy ipa. Pine nose. Resinous bitterness in the finish. Somewhat on the sweet size. This is a nic, big beer but unexceptional.

orange amber with small head. pretty textbook ipa. obviously fairly hoppy, but not particularly unique.

draft at the tap room - Pours lightly hazy orange and has a citrus rich aroma featuring orange and grapefruit. It tastes moderately to strongly bitter with ample grapefruit flavor. The palate is bubbly and it’s medium bodied. There’s the expected bitter finish and it’s a bit more crisp than the hops in some of their other beers. That’s a good thing. Pretty good brew.

decent IPA - no real distinguishing quality - crisp and clean IPA. Not bad

Poured from bottle, pours a clear copper with a thin white head, the aroma and flavor has a nice hop bitterness with a balance of the malt, pretty light and easy drinking. Enjoyable but nothing that will blow your socks off.

This bottled brew poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized most lasting off white colored bubbles thaat left behind a poor lacing and transparent light orange brown colored softly carbonated body. The aroma was a mild dough malt and the palate was tiny froms start to finish. The flavor wA nice crisp happy one.
