COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Authentic Bavarian Wheat Ale with hints of banana and clove

Too many times it’s been overheard, I would have another, if only I could catch my second wind? Now there is no excuse. This wonderfully different ale often takes its drinkers by surprise with its complex flavors created by the one of a kind weizen yeast. Its smooth, easy to drink and simply delicious. This gorgeous, medium bodied beer starts out with yeasty character and finishes off, happily, with a delicate spicy flavor. The adventurous will pair this beer up with everything from pizza to a hearty Rueben. Some of our patrons also insist that Second Wind Wheat is our best summertime beer, so pack a few for your next beach visit. Just one sip, and you will understand why some say its sweet summertime in a bottle.

Bottle at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange - pours hazy gold with a thin white head. While it has the typical notes of banana and clove (barely) it’s overpowered by the astringent citrus thing happening. Body is a bit thin as well. Drinkable, but disappointing.

bottle. hazy pale golden with small head. i don’t know why americans have such trouble making a good hefeweizen, but this is really light on flavor.

bottle - Pours lightly hazy gold with a lingering white, lacing head. It has a fruity aroma suggestive of citrus and banana. The flavor is sweet with mild hops bitterness in the finish. It’s light and refreshing, a solid, perhaps underrated wheat ale.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle, swilled .. er, swirled.. to pick up the sediment. Cloudy orange-amber brew with very thin head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, some spice. Taste is very good - solid yeast and wheat body with a nice bitter finish, banana and some hints of citrus. Rather simple and straighforward but presenting more character, zest, and style than may others of the style.

Bottle. Citrus and wheat malt aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow color with small head. Sweet orange-lemon and stale wheat malt flavor. Decent wheat ale - good for a hot day.

Mildly hazed golden yellow with a white head that’s gone. Aroma of perfumed malt, wheat and a touch of honey. Taste of honey, malt and wheat. Mostly bland and thin with an astringent and prickly finish. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a light golden. Very small, and short lived white head. No lacing. Sweet aroma of bananas and cloves. Lots of carbonation. Slight bitterness. Drinkable, but not impressive.

Opaque gold pour with little to no head. Mild banana bread aroma with a sort of artificial tartness. The flavor is a touch overly sweet with a semi tart finish. Moderate level of banana and clove esters with a touch of lemon and a grainy body. Medium-thin body with too much carbonation.

On tap at MSBF. Clearer amber with white head. Aroma is clove and wheat with some banana. Flavor is much the same but with noticable sweetness and a little grain. Medium creamy body. Solid.
