2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear dark amber color, ivory head cover, sprays of lace. Taste is malt and maple honey that coasts through a lightly carbonated swallow to medium hop bitterness that isn’t in tune with the malt. The ensuing fight never gets settled. I suppose true in advertising works - this is a train wreck.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from can. Amber color. Sweet aroma. Some honey sweet in the flavor, but mostly bread. I remember trying this before an kind of liking it, but this one was just ok. Drinkable, but not something to seek out.

Can. Pours a hazy amber color. Aroma and taste are as the name implies - a train wreck. Listen to the advice on the can - "Approach with caution"

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/1/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of caramel, honey, toast, brown bread, maple, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pine, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, honey/maple, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, honey, toast, brown bread, maple, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pine, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Good amount of herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, honey, toast, brown bread, maple, light pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and solid robustness of dark/bready malts, honey/maple, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a nice imperial amber ale style. All around good complexity and solid robustness of dark/bready malt, honey/maple, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. The flavors were not as bold as I would have expected given the ABV; but it was still really quite enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slight notes of bready malt and a touch of honey to start. Pours a nearly opaque dark amber with a nice cap of white head. Slightly sweet flavor, with a touch of drying bitterness. Slick mouthfeel and heavy body makes this a sipper. The alcohol is well hidden, but there’s not much going on here. I was hoping for at least a little more notes from the maple and honey.
