A mild bitterness and a spicy aroma balance this perfect blend of caramel, coffee, and subtle roasted malt flavors. This brew emphasizes smooth, chocolatey goodness. A complex malt body gives this porter its robust character. Hops are present, yet almost untraceable on the foreground of the palate. Beneath a solid head of dark tan, our porter is black in color and highlighted with auburn hues. This brew tastes as deep as it looks and at 6% ABV, is stronger than most in its class. (Bottle, 0.355 l, at tiong’s tasting, thanks rosenbergh, 20160109) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was small and white. Aroma had chocolate and burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, chocolate, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A nice solid dark brew.

330ml bottle (tasting @tiong’s, thanks). Dark brown color. Small size, brown head, stays. Berries, sweet, roast, milky notes in aroma. Roast, caramel, berries, blackcurrant in taste. Nice long lasting roast. Feels rough and uncut on tongue which makes it bit hard to drink. But nether the less pretty solid porter.

355ml bottle - thanks rosenberg and the posse at tiongs!
What a beauty - basically black, but with a persistent tight beige head. Simple roasty aroma. Very light palate. Taste also pleasantly toasty. Superb drinkability. A lovely porter. No alcohol present, I could happily crush many of these winter or summer. Finish toasty, just a bit of chocolatey sweetness. Good stuff.

355 ml bottle.
Pours dark ruby red color with a small off-white head. Hops and malts on the nose, some cocoa, caramel and distant milky chocolate. Sweet cocoa flavor, dark malts and very faint vegetables, must be the coffee turned a bit old. Decent.

355 ml bottle. Pours a black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of roastiness, herbal notes and tobacco. Flavour of rich roastiness, grassy bitterness, tobacco, some herbal notes, some mild vegetable notes and coffee. Medium bodied. A bit thin and not at it’s best anymore as the coffee has turned into vegetables. But anyways Weed, CA is a place I’d like to visit.

Black colour with some red hue and a small off-white head. Liquorice, sweet liquorice, salt, roasted malt and hoppy bitterness in the aroma. The flavour is dry roasted malt, liquorice, salt and hops. Not bad.
