12 oz bottle from Liquid Solutions. Chilled for 1 1/4 hrs.Pours a midnight black with a small tan head. Nice roasty aroma with notes of vanilla, chocolate and espresso. Starts out sweet and finishes with bittersweet roasted cocoa/coffee. Almost chewy. Full bodied for a Porter. Borders on Baltic porter/imp Stout terrirtory but with less abv. This is my 2nd Mt. Shasta beer and i like them both. Their Abner Ale is going to be a staple, and this will now be my #1 go-to session Porter. Session? OMG this is one of the best beers i have ever tasted, session or no..Easily as good as a $10 import...Am SO glad to have found this brewery!

Roasted toffee aroma with some chocolate. Crimson edges surround a dark pour with a nice, off-white head. Hello! Lots of toffee, chocolate, roasted malts and tasty bitterness envelop you in deliciousness. Lingering sweet and char. Porters don’t get much beter than this!

Aroma is really nice, coffee and hops and toasted malts. A little hoppy bite in the finish. A quite nice pleasant porter.

Wow, thanks to KenB for this highly rated porter. The pour into my Stone tulip is onyx, with no light showing through my tulip glass and a 2-finger tan head. The aroma is heavy dark roast patent malt, heavy hops, spices, and a lot of figgy fruit; this one is very much like FFF Alpha Klaus in ther coor and aroma departments. The taste is heavy roasty malty, on the sweet side, with a lot of chocolate and coffe hints, and a lot of back door hops and fruit. Very well balanced with a complex palate. I’d love to do a horizontal with this and Alpha Klaus. Wow, this one is outstanding, requires a 2 ounce repour, and shoots its way into my top 10 porters of all time!
