Commercial Description:
Hopfenweisse is an extremely new style of beer with only 4 examples existing in the world. It is based on the classic German Hefe-weizen but with a hop profile and bitterness more akin to that of a Pilsner. MT Hopfenweisse is made from all German wheat and barley malts with hops coming from New Zealand. It has a cloudy yellow colour with an aroma of banana, cloves and tropical fruit. In the mouth it shows a dry bitterness that is very refreshing. Well paired with white fleshed fish, BBQ’d rosemary scallops or soft cheeses.

Sample at MT Brewery. Another beer sampled on my last visit. Pours hazy yellow with a white head that diminished. Faint aroma and flavour of wheat, banana ester and citrus. Thin bodied, slightly watery. It’s lacking weisse character I’d really like to taste here. Easily not the pick of the bunch, I wasn’t really impressed with this one.
