The fruity aroma is there but over-ridden by the yeast, quite drinkable (ie. more-ish) despite the slight stickness on the palate and slightly sweet finish. Good and I’m looking forward to another few this weekend.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2009 330ml bottle. Copper and rusty brown colour with a lce of foam on top. Spiced fruit and clove aromas. Lively in the mouth and the high alcohol content is evident as the taste of anised comes through. Not a bad attempt at this style. kenbeer (46), , Australia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 8, 2009 A very good beer and perhaps the best Australian made Belgian style beer that I have had to date. Red brown colour that is quite attractive. Nice malt and ester balance and not tosweet as some seem to be. It could do with some more carbonation though I feel to help lift it up some. Verry nearly "there" and overall a very enjoyable beer. nate2g (1150), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Sample at MT Brewery. Pours reddish brown with a creamy beige head. Rich malty aroma and flavour - plums, caramel and subtle spicy notes. Medium bodied, also quite ’chewy’ in the mouth. The malt and fruit follows through nicely to the finish. This is very true to the style and I rate this the best of the range at the brewery. Stew41 (1059), Caulfield, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Flavours load up on that so so classical Belgian yeast character. Caramel flavours play a very good supporting roll. Not heavy by any stretch and dances across the palate for a 7.2%er. I’m not sure I have ever tasted a better Australian dubbel?
