3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Sort of an odd one. Had a more hoppy pilsenery feel, but then the thick texture and banana lolly taste reminded me it was a wheat beer. Good maltiness, and goes down well with a cheese plate.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted 8/3/2014. Draught at Mudgee Brewing, Mudgee, NSW. Poured a hazy pale golden yellow with a 5mm white head that diminished fairly quickly to collar that laced OK. Carbonation nil. Aroma of fruity fermented spices/cloves. Taste dominated by cloves with no/low bitterness. Light body. Smooth finish dominated by cloves. OK

0.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
An average wheat beer with the standard banana and fruit flavours but with such a tangy/ tart aftertaste, it ruins any possible enjoyment. Has the excessive carbonation that seems to be a hall mark of Mudgee beers.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
From the bottle, a real pale straw colour. Plenty of carbonation. Interesting sweet aromas that I struggle to describe, some banana and bubblegum perhaps? Smooth but a tad thin mouth-feel, easy drinking. This is a good beer, good summer day quaffer.

From a 330ml bottle on 13/11/2010. Not a bad attempt at a hefe. Has a slightly odd aroma with some sharpness over the banana. The carbonation is good. Is reasonably sweet and has quite refreshing lemony tang. No world beater but quite drinkable.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle. Pours immensely pale straw colour with a good carbonation that leads to an uprising of bubbles that form a thick creamy white foam blanket. Cloudy as you would expect with clove and bubblegum aromas wafting through. Flavour is sweet and zippy on the palate. Not bad but not great either.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I thought this was an American Style Wheat when I first tried it because mine was almost completely devoid of cloves/banana. It definitely had the sourness I’d expect but too dry to balance it out properly.
Head was good and hung around a little while.
Mellowed a little after a while but the tartness was just a little too much for me.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: some funk with a hint of clove. Flavour: actually a decent mix of a little banana with clove and sweet malt.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught, Lawson Park Hotel, Mudgee. Dropped by on the way to Orange from the upper Hunter. Hazy pale golden body, fluffy white head. Decidedly sweet aroma, candy banana, bubble gum, wheat malt and clove. Creamy mouthfeel, high carbonation, seems somehow lean. Quite nice flavour, bubblegum seems more apparent than in most, bit of banana and spice on the finish. Quite nice for an Aussie micro hefe.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
opened it with trepidation after the other two mudgee beers gushed all over me... but a healthy psscht and no more. however head fizzled immediately, which is a grave flaw in my book. smells like a proper weissbier yeast used, but along with cloves and perfume and bubblegum there’s also a bit of a dirty fruity stressed yeast smell. in the mouth plenty of wheat malty flavour and good phenolic aftertaste, but definitely on the sweet side. but a pretty good effort, beats a lot of aussie hefes.
