3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 malzmiller (11) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUL 7, 2007On Tap at the the Brauerei Mahlzmuhle in Koeln.
Along with Paffgen, one of the two most distinctive and enjoyable Kolschs. Where Paffgen is hoppier, spicier; Muhlen Kolsch leans toward malt character.
A twinge of malt in the body. Undertone of anise or perhaps softer; fennel. Pale yellow with a glint of copper.

This was my first kolsch in Cologne, May 2013. Clear, gold color. Malt and some yeast, and served quite cold.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 zakdrager (7) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 20, 2013 does not count
By far the best Kölsch I had so far, better than Sion, much better than Reissdorf. The difference might be that in Mühlen Kölsch they use water from their own well and only natural hops. Excellent!
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jmgreenuk (1374) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle at the DISOB tasting, Den Haag. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with no head. The aroma is weak malt. The flavour is medium bitter, malty and a little soapy! Maybe that was the glass. Not a classic. I would not by a crate.

Bottle @ ABCBeers, Dean’s scared of beer tasting. Clear gold. Aroma is grainy, some German hops and slightly metallic. Flavor is slightly sweet grainy and malty with a slightly bitter German hoppy finish.

Clear pale golden with a decent size white head.
Nose is light vegetal notes, peas, pale malt, touch paper, light citrus.
Taste comprises pale malts, light veg, citrus, touch of caramel.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp dry finish.
Ok - one of the weaker Kolsch’s on my Koln crawl!
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 MichaelBruch (1621) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - MAY 1, 2013
Irgendwie hatte ich doch etwas mehr erwartet als die würze im abgang. Der rest ist hellgold, arm an Aromen und etwas dünn geraten. Ganz ok.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 McTapps (1622) - Ruhrgebiet, GERMANY - MAY 1, 2013
Bottle. Clear golden colour with steady head and crisp body. Nose of bitter hops. Taste of medium-bitter hops, straw, young roses, grass and cereals. Easy o drink but the finish is little bit too bitter and metallic. Solid Kölsch.
