3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On Tap at the the Brauerei Mahlzmuhle in Koeln.
Along with Paffgen, one of the two most distinctive and enjoyable Kolschs. Where Paffgen is hoppier, spicier; Muhlen Kolsch leans toward malt character.
A twinge of malt in the body. Undertone of anise or perhaps softer; fennel. Pale yellow with a glint of copper.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Surprised I didn’t rate this before. Very pale, light. Soft malts, lightest of yeast. Boring but drinkable. Certainly not the worst, but also not the best Kolsch from Koln. (Oudejaarsticken. bottle at Brecht Amsterdam)

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ Brecht. Pours a clear golden beer with a medium sized white head on top. Aroma is quite malty, sweet and flat. Flavor is flat, medium sweet and rather boring. Nothing wrong with it, but nut too special.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Mühlen Kölsch) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a glass tankard (still looking for my beer glasses after the moving), ABV 4.8%
Crystal clear body, golden yellow in colour. Small white head, with good density, good retention too, leaving light lacing on the glass.
Not much on the aroma, malts, grass, but all clean with nothing offensive.
Nice taste though, the same as on the aroma but much more notable, nice bitterness on the finish and the aftertaste.
Medium thin body, carbonation on good levels.
Quite good, definitely thirst quenching and very drinkable.
