Röstig-trockener Antrunk, minimalst würzig. Keine Entwicklung der Aromen, röstig (wenn auch milder) bleibend, minimalst säuerlich. Zum Ende hopfiger, wenn auch nur minimal. Etwas bitter. 11/8/7/7//7

It’s dark bronze-brown with a creamy head and the aroma has notes of caramel, malt, nuts and syrup. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of nuts, caramel, syrup, bread and the finish is dry and slightly citrus-like. It’s a nice, dark lager.

Fairly bright chestnut with a thick head. The aroma is fun - spicy hop, toffeeish brown sugary malts and some minor rustic yeast notes. The palate has a slight wateriness but also toffeeish malts. A little diacetyl slickness on the tongue but you don’t really taste it. Finishes light with more fairly clean dark malt character.

Draft @ brewpub. Served in thick glass mug, is dark brown with coppery tones and a huge sudsy rocky head. Aroma of cola, chestnut. Lots of character. Not really liquid bread, though. More in the nutty, chocolate vein. Good body. Tasty, is breadier in the flavors than the aromas let on and has a sweet malty molasses finish. Very nice.

Bottle, 4.8%. Slightly roasted aroma, quite mild. Clear dark brown colour. Big stable tan head. The flavour starts off roasted, turning slightly bready, dark bread. Seems to have a little sourness to the flavour as well. Roasted nut flavour. Has some citric notes as well, which I do not like much.

MoritzF (8590) - Bochum, GERMANY - DEC 26, 2007
(swing top bottle) Clear, chestnut coloured effervescent hue with a big and persistent beige foamy head. Light-sweet toast-malty and nutty aroma with herbal hops, including a tinge of metal that fades quickly. Moderately sweet flavour with a light bitterness in the wings, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toast-malty, nutty taste with caramel and herbal notes; dryish, sweet-bitter toasty finish with a noticeable hops-character and a lasting aftertaste of caramel/toffee. Pleasant.

Draft. A chestnut colored beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet and very malty with quite strong notes of caramel and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty again with quite strong notes of nuts and caramel, leading to a dry and slightly roasted finish. Quite low level of residual sugar - and very fresh for the style.
