1l-bottle from the brewery, as Schwarzbier. Deep brown colour, large beige head. Aroma of chocolate. Full-bodied, intensive malt flavours, lots of chocolate, shy hints of caramel and dark fruit. Lovely hop profile, slightly citrusy-herbal. Very nice throughout.

As Schwartzbier, @ brauhaus. Ruby-tinted dark brown, thick head is tight, stable, but aerated. Aroma has slight diacetyl but also nice dark bready malts. Soft palate with nice juicy carbonation. Dark, dry malts shine. There is a good dose of caramel, dark sugar, and date pudding. Not bad.

Labelled Schwarzbier. Chestnut colour. Hazy. Fairly toasty character. Somewhat thin. Light cocoa/chocolate with vague nuttiness. Probably too thin overall.

Tap. Roast malt, aromatic hop aroma. Red chestnut, lacing brown head. Roast, fruity, hop aromatic. Chewy body, prper light on the palate. . Well balanced, good moreish Schwarzbier.
