Bought a bottle at Bert’s Bierhuis in Utrecht. The beer has a orange golden color and small head which dissappears very quickly. The carbonation is a little low. In the aroma tones of caramel, some dark fruits, malts and yeast. The taste is full and sweet with a light bitterness but also a little alcoholic. The aftertaste is strong with a light bitter and a little alcohol. A pretty standard tripel, which a little chemical. They really could have done a better job.

Good, fluffy off-white head, with shards of lace over finely carbonated copperish golden beer, faint haze. Herbal, garden herbs, dry hops. Bit of banana/chewing gum. Toasted malts, scorched sugar, and again some herbal traits. Caramel, going into a sweetish finish. Bit burning MF, light to medium bodied, slick. Anything but exciting, the frater.

Bottle 33cl. Clear medium amber, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing; aroma is malty, caramel, honey, peach, apricot, yeast; taste is medium sweet and bitter, toffee, spice notes average duration, slightly more bitter and spicy as well as earthy impresion in the finish; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; not a typical but nevertheless decent tripel.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 06/08/16 (1 yr old), large sample. Almost clear golden color, medium head. Aroma is spicy, coriander, bit apple, bit grainy biscuit. Slight sweet in taste, bit dry and spicy. Quite boring.

An slightly orange, a head is blond and medium. Aroma has sweet fruitness, perries and apples, some spicyness. Taste has fruitness of apples, tartness, peppers, some alcohol. Medium bodied, not too much of carbonation. Too simple and not enough of aromatic notes.

Bottle 33cl. Looks like pilsner, but is a bit hazy. Top is white, but fades quickly. Aroma is not very complex. Some malts are recognizable. The taste is not very complex too. There’s a strong bitterness which reminds me of Pilsner too. Well, not bad, for a Pilsner that is. But a tripel?

They call it a Tripel, and you get a sort of tripel. The taste is dry-bitter with a woody-earthy undertone. But these nuances are not very harmoniv, the beer is somehow rough and gives me the impression of being not really well composed. No, I love Tripels but what shall I do with this???

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes orangegoldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, fruchtig, leicht alkoholisch. Geschmack hefig, malzig süß, fruchtig, Gewürze.
