Brewed with natural ingredients. The beer is named after a Count who gave Megen city rights in 1357. Megen is a small town on the Maas and celebrates their 650 year anniversay of those city rights in 2007. This beer will be available all year to celebrate the festivities. Brewed for and with the recipe of de Muifelbrouwerij (www.muifelbrouwerij.nl).

Het bier is lekker zacht en heeft helaas een schuimkraag die gelijk weg valt. Verder is het gewoon een lekker biertje maar wordt nooit speciaal.

Bottle 33cl. Yellow, gold somewhat hazy. Tiny white head that stays somewhat. Little carbonation. The aroma has hints of IPA beers, dry hops and citrus flavour. After a while there’s only some sweet, malt favour in the aroma. The dry hops are not present in the taste though, because that’s rather flat and has some sweetness in the aftertaste.

Lots of yeast sediment in pour. White lacing foam head. BArley dominated aroma, and yet kind of sweet taste. Not that great. (Velp 201409)

Bottle from a friend. Hazy light brown color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, ripe fruits, earthy notes, yeast and a bit of hops. Bitter finish with citrus, ripe fruits and yeast. Decent blond ale.

Goudkleur, troebel, niet veel schuim. Ruikt zoetig. Zachte smaak, beetje zoet. Weinig bitter.

De laatste uit het pakket van Ron en Betty. Ruikt zuur, maar is een blond. Ook grote schuimbellen. Smaakt toegankelijk maar beetje slap

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra, Tiel. Hazy orange golden with a lot of floating yeast specks. Dense white head. Aroma is not that strong but fruity and yeasty. Taste is sweet with some underlying bitterness. Body is a bit thin. All in all it reminds me of a watered down triple. Not a memorable beer.

Hazy yellow/golden with an off-white head. Aroma of malts, yeast, caramel, fruits, citrus, arpicots, hops. Flavour is sweet malts, a bit too sweet for my taste. Some hop bitterness in the aftertaste. I wish this was a little less sweet, because the aroma is fine.

Bottle, thnx to Secret Sint 2013. Pours a hazy pale golden beer with a medium sized white head on top. Aroma is fairly yeasty, touch of apples and bread. Flavor is light sour, bitter and actually quite typical and average for an ale. Light prickly mouthfeel, almost no aftertaste. Quite boring and bland, but not bad.

Bottle, 330 ml, into a tulip glass at home. ABV 6.8% Crystal clear body, bright orange golden in colour. Two fingers tall white head, soapy, with average retention. Thick lacing on the glass. Aroma of maltose, glue, kind of fruity but weird at the same time, sort of artificial. Taste is sweet, lots of malts, sugars, mandarins but more like they threw some orange flavoured gummy bears in the kettle. Light alcohol on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, soft carbonation. Overall an interesting beer. First impression comes as a bit of a shock with the sickenly sweetness and the weird orange/mandarine flavour but it becomes (slighty) better during the drinking.
