Brewed with Chinook and Cascade hops. It was a test brew, only available at the KBC 2011, brewed by Maasland Oss. Now it is part of the Muifel portfolio.

Draught @ KBC í11: Small white head on top of clear dark orange colored beer. Smell hops, flowers, cedar wood, fruits, fresh, fruity. Taste hops, flowers, fruit, citrus, grape, bitter, malts, barleys. Lovely mix. Low carbo, medium to full body, soft light creamy tingly mouthfeel and a watery texture.

Sampled draught @ Tilburg Bierfestival 2013. Darker amber with almost no head. Smell is fresh worth, barnhouse, hay, very heavy farm raw hops, fruity. Taste is bitter caramel, sugar, caramelized hops, spices, bitter herbs, floral hoppy, sweet yeast & some grass bitterness in finish. Touch hazy body. Not bad.

Tap @KBC Den Bosch 2011. I was eager to taste this one and it didnít let me down at all. A very nice IPA. The mouthfeel could be a bit better, to me it lacked body. Other than that itís a great IPA.

Idiosynkrasie (4240) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - APR 22, 2014
330ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Biscuity, caramel malty aroma, some straw, some pine. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally tart, some pine, a nuttily touch, cautious caramel malty background, a touch of biscuit. Undeveloped, unexhibited hop, slightly unbalanced, inharmonic, overall boring.

(draught) pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a frothy white head. aroma of heavy sauerkraut and herbal hops, light banana skins and pale malts. flavour is quite resinous, with notes of herbal hops, caramel, oranges, mango and a light-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation. the aroma is just off.

Bottle @ home. Aroma of fruity/piney hops, some grapefruit and orange, faint caramel. Flavour is big dry bitterness with a sidenote of belgian yeast. Nice, but more a belgian.

Bottle from Mitra Tiel. Clear golden colour, white head. Nose is hoppy, herbal and fruity. Flavour is malty, hoppy, fruity, fairly bitter. No real hop punch, definitely no usa styled ipa. Watery, thin bodied. A bit disappointing.

Poured clear golden with a frothy, disappearing white head. Aroma of zesty citrus and soft malt. Medium, smooth body, flavour is lactic, vanilla and bitter orange with a dry finish.

On tap @ Arendsnest. This definitely building up some expectations ad I have been on the wander all day in Amsterdam trying to locate a good hoppy Americanized hoppy punchy IPA on tap, but so far all I have ended up with is 4 mediocre and one bad totally classic English styles one. Yeah, you better deliver now you! It starts off nicely with a light cloudy, or more deep blurry golden orange looking beer, it has a really good looking super lacing and lingering white head. So, the nose: NOOOOOO! ANOTHERíS ENGLISH STYLE!? Not sure what Iíll do now. Itís basically dominated but caramel, sweet malts, burned honey puffs and fruity eastern tones this. Where is the punch? Where are the hops!? Nutty sweet aromas. Thatís a downer, but it does not smell bad in any way, just not how I want it to! Thank god it had some citrus in the taste. Itís really mineral waterish but definitely some citrus. The oily in the mouth and itís wrapped in a soft to average carbonation level. Not sure if I should cry or laugh. Iím neither right now, but I just want a good hoppy American (thatís USA) IPA! This is not that in any way! Iím going to Beer Temple again. At least they had something like that there. 07.03.2014
