Zuster Agatha is a dark beer with 10% ABV. Brewed according to the Trappist traditions and only natural ingredients. Althoug these types of beer a normally named after male chatholics the brewer still decided to name it after Sister Agatha. It’s a beer to enjoy in peace and quite. It has a complex aroma with fruit, raisins and roasted malts. It’s full and solid with a surprisingly dry finish. It invites you to take another sip. Please be careful with this high alcoholic beer as the strenght might attack you by surprise. Brewed for and with the recipe of de Muifel Brouwerij (http://www.muifelbrouwerij.nl/).

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear cloudy chestnut brown with a frothy off-white head. The aroma is rich and alcoholic, with fruit and malt. The flavour is bitter with alcoholic liqourice which tends to dominate and burns a little on the palate. This beer is not really a favourite.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2013 This beer was said to be a new one, but I guess it might very well be the same as the regular Zuster Agatha. Hazy brownish color, medium to full sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly dark fruits, some sweet-bitterness, caramel. Medium to full body, medium carbonation.

Clear ruby red beer, small sediment floating around under a huge fluggy yellow beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, caramel, bit nutty, milk chocolate, bit earthy. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of chocolate, bit sugary, some mocha, cocoa powder, sweet touch, citrus, pretty bitter as well. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, fruity, dried fruits, little soapy, some citrus, quite some banana.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Bert’s Bierhuis. Light red brown with a beige head. Spicy aroma with lots of molasses and caramel. Taste is not as sweet as expected, quite bitter with chocolate notes in the finish. Aftertaste is also quite bitter and lasting. Great quadrupel!

Pours a large light brown rocky head that mostly diminishes. Lacing is good. Body is clar, sparkling with red brown hue. Aroma contains roasted malts, lemon hops, light dough from yeasts, grape and raisin, brown sugar, licorice and alcohol. Flavor starts off light acidic with lemon or citrus from hops, to be quickly followed by moderate sweetnes and a roasted taste from burnt malts and fruits like raisin and grape. Finish is dry and light bitter, a bit astringent and there's some taste of alcohol, which is quite well hidden. Palate is light to medium, a bit watery in texture and with lively carbonation. A little less sweetness would make it more balanced. Still, very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

33 cl bottle @ home. Clear, deep red-brown color. Big off-white head with long retention and good lacing. Aroma’s: caramel/toffee and red fruit nicely combined, with some spices/herbs (anise/laurel) retronasal, somewhat roasted & alcoholic. Flavor is medium sweet with tones of red fruit. Alcoholfeel is not too strong, body is medium (even on the thin side). Finishes somewhat dry, with a hint of bitterness. OK.
