edden (882), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Jan 20, 2008 On tap @ Mulholland. Interesting dirty tan-brown body (similar in color to dried out dirt) and creamy. Body was really gradated when poured which made the beer interesting to look at. Nose is malty. Similar to a Guinness except you could taste the rye character. Finish was long and bitter. I would like to have this one again. Dogbrick (2161), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 16, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a dark brown/black color with a thin and creamy beige head that has good retention. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Bready malt and rye aroma with some spice in the background. Medium-bodied with flavors of grain, malt and rye with touches of nuts and hops. The finish has a toasted malt and rye character and leaves a mild lingering spice aftertaste. Not on the same level as Founders but pretty good overall.
