Hazy thick amber / dark orange poor with a thick frothy light brown head. Aromas of caramel malts, caramel, prunes, red grapes, raisins and burbon vanilla.... Nicely complexe. Mouthfeel is creamy and full bodied. Perfect balance between bitter and sweet... Low carbonation but ok for this type of brew. Flavors again are very complexe... a nice dark fruity explosion combined with a nice malty tone and hints of alcohol. Overall i am VERY impressed. Aromas and flavors are very evolutive as it gets to room temperature...

Bottle shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy orange-ruby with a large lasting creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty with light spices and caramel malt -- kind of like an average Unibroue beer. Flavour’s sweet with Belgian yeast, caramel malt, spices, alcohol, some fruit and a boozy bitter finish. Medium bodied. Surprisingly, this is a pretty good version of the style.

Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy, my bottle via trade with Viper666. Hazy amber-ruby with a massive creamy-foamy lasting beige head. Bone-dry sharp peppery spice/yeast aroma, a hint of oxidized apple cores, some sweet generic light malt - apples and alcohol in the finish. Tasted of fairly generic sweet brown sugar malt, lightly spiced, yeast character much like baking sweetrolls, apple and cinnamon with light alcohol in the finish - quite warming, reminded me of a light version of many of the Unibroue BSAs. Fairly thick, almost syrupy body, somewhat lacking in carbonation, very malty indeed; pretty decent, easy to drink - lacks a certain robustness, and the fruit character seems a bit off.

Bouteille.
