Bottle - 500ml. Dark brown body with heavy carbonation and a quickly fading off-white bubbly head. Fair malty/hoppy aroma with caramel hints. Taste carries brown sugar and woody notes. Ends with a short bittersweet finish. Ordinary.

Okay amber body with a decent pillow of antique white head on top. Soft aroma of malt and caramel. Flavour is grass and leather, with a slightly weak palate. Okay, all right, nothing more.

Pours a murky dark brown with little carbonation and almost no head. Aroma is a very sweet caramel and malt. Taste is a mixture of caramel, roasted malt but overall this is unbalanced and the flavours are a bit of a mess.

It is a mahogany coat, light clear gold highlights, simple short white cap. Nose is kind of a wine and cheese party, exhibiting mostly cherry and some lemon. Taste is frontally a bit more cheese, so lactic acid. Some very warped caramel and red fruits follow, kind of like a homemade red wine you know you won’t like. Has an overlying funky dry spice and hop which lingers into a finish with a slightly dry bite, and a mildly dry feeling palate. A weird one for sure. But novel. I’ll probably dump most of the 5-dollar bottle from Peluso.

500 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 01AU10.

App.: Deep mahogany, clear, decent off-white foam. Aroma: Bright fruit caramel and brown sugar with a slightly nasty, barfy, organic acid note, fair rich and sweet, marred by that nastiness, hints of smokiness, would be lovely without the nasty. Palate: Medium+ body with limited effervescence, a little oily. Flav.: A strange and unpleasant green, leafy, vegetal note with a hint of metallic, bad; behind that, quite fruity, malty, a bit more phenolic smoke and some vague floral notes, overall: messy; kinda sweet with some inappropriate acidity, a little barf and some bright fruitiness.

This is a mess. Certainly not Gould, nor Sylver, not even quite Brawns.
