french tickler (523), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Apr 18, 2008 Guiness like poor and guiness like head... thick and frothy with good lacing. Aromas of chocolate malts, white chocolate, caramel and hints of coffee beans. Surpringly thicker body than i expected, nicely balanced sweetness and bitterness. Full flavored mouthfeel with hints of coffee and milk chocolate. I am pleasently surprised by this beer... to bad its yet to be available in my area.
sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 30, 2008 12oz bottle purchased for $1.89, likely from Metro Joanette in Montreal. Pours black with no head or carbonation. Medium aroma of roasted malt. The first sensation is tanginess on the lips and tongue. It’s medium bodied and slightly sweet as it goes down. Too tangy and not enough depth. Not a great oatmeal stout.
Boutip (1855), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Dec 21, 2007 Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a dirty brown foamy head with good retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt with some light coffee notes. Taste is dominated by some dry roasted malt notes with some light coffee and some subtle black chocolate. Body is full with some great carbonation. Actually better then what I expected; this brewery seems to be improving lately. ucusty (1241), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Dec 20, 2007 Pours dark with fluffy tan head and 4 rings of lacing about a centimeter apart. Malty aroma with hints of cocoa. Sweet mouth-feel with subtle hints of hops and cocoa. Light malty finish. perfect sweet/bitter contrast
