yngwie (3762), Kristiansand, Norway Mar 8, 2008 Can. Pours quite nice, with a clear, golden body under a decent off-white head. The aroma is the usual sweetish, grainy/malty, slightly fruity one usually found in the Munkholm beers. Grassy/hayish too. The aroma has a touch of metal pulling the score down, as well as sweet maltiness, grains and some fruityness. Thin body. Metallic finish with grains, fruits, hay and a little touch of bitterness. Not bad, not good. Non-alcohol. (080308) gunnfryd (2840), Kristiansand, Norway Mar 19, 2008 Can. Golden colour with an off- white head. Aroma is sweet, grain, fruit. Flavour is sweet, malt, fruit, overcooked vegetables. Not my kind of beer. KnutAlbert (2484), Oslo, Norway Feb 7, 2008 0,5 l can.
OK for a non-alcoholic. Some bread, a litlte fruit, a little bitterness that lingers. larsga (2448), Oslo, Norway Feb 12, 2008 Medium shiny coarseish white head shrinks rapidly, leaving a strange-looking head full of holes. Deep yellow body with carbonation. Milky straw and rubber aroma, quite mild. Dry metallic straw taste with wooden, meaty notes. Medium body. Dry metallic milky aftertaste with hop notes. (Hops!?! In a Ringnes beer?!) Harsh dry metallic taste lingers. Not the worst of the Munkholm series. In fact, possibly the best. (0.5l can from Meny.) Sigmund (2006), Hafrsfjord, Norway Feb 13, 2008 500 ml can. Pale golden colour, decent white head. The usual n/a sickly "boiled" notes (over-boiled vegetables, maize grit) in the aroma (and to some extent in the flavour too). The flavour also has some malty sweetness and noticeable hops, which means that the beer is not totally undrinkable. I’d be fairly desperate for something cold and wet if I ever buy this n/a beer again, though.
