larsga (2448), Oslo, Norway Oct 30, 2006 Medium offwhite head over pretty chestnut brown body. A bit light for a Christmas beer. Sweet malty aroma with notes of rock candy, cinnamon, and a little straw. Taste is sweet watery cardboard, with a dry, bitter metal aftertaste. Very low on taste, but apart from the metal there isn’t much in the way of off tastes, either. Not bad. In fact, probably the best beer in the Munkholm series. (0.33l bottle.) yespr (7843), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 19, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a little white head. Slight buttery and malty aroma with minor spice note. Slight caramel sweet flavour, slight hoppiness. Sweet to dry finish. tykjen (183), Florø, Norway Jan 27, 2007 Quite decent low-alcohol, actually. Looks ok, a bit on the darker side. Aroma of blueberry jam. The typical Munkholm-flavour is hardly detectable. Not too sweet finish and there is in fact a slight trace of sweet gale back in the aftertaste. . gunnfryd (2840), Kristiansand, Norway Jan 16, 2007 Bottle. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, spices. Flavour is malt, fruit, sweet, spices. Gr0ve (1123), Oslo, Norway Nov 16, 2006 330 ml bottle. Amber clear colour. Medium-sized coarse white head. Grainy berry-like aroma. Prickly sensation on the tongue from the carbonation. Quite a bit of bitterness at first. It then mellows out and leaves a water and slightly fruity flavour. I’ve had worse. Not really any defects to be found, but it is not magnificent either.
