grikmok (67), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA Feb 9, 2008 Poured to an Austrian stein with no head. Aromas of malts. Initial flavor of sweet malts followed by a slightly bitter finish. I was surprised by the palate. I had expected the palate to be more full bodied for the taste, but the palate was too thin. Not a bad beer though.
pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Jul 21, 2008 Bottle (@Krah-Krah, Vienna): clar, ruby coloured, small, rather quickly vanishing beige head; dried fruits and molasses in the nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; a kind of hoppiness in the sweetish-malty and fruity finish. tastes like a diluted Dunkler Bock................. heavy (536), Split, Croatia Jan 10, 2008 0.5 l bottle from an Eurospar in Graz, at 5.2% ABV and 13.3° extract. Poured dark brown reddish body with smaller brownish head that didn’t live long. Weak sourish hoppy aroma with some caramel. Sweet flavor, just a slightly bitter, with lot of caramel, roasted sugar and dark fruits, let’s say plums. Full bodied, but the alcohol is somehow felt. Finish is very sweet. Was quite tasty, much better than other Malz I’ve tried. ogivlado (2478), Zagreb, Croatia Nov 9, 2003 Bottled(500ml). -brown coloured with light brown quick-disappearing head, caramel flavor and bitter finish, too much sweet Geiserich (1555), Vienna, Austria Feb 18, 2003 Red-brown colour, light brown head. Sweetness is very dominant, but the aftertasted is dry.
Typicall for an austrian "Doppelmalz". I don't like this style.
