EithCubes (4631) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Bottle by 30.10. Nose is caramel and rich, spicy dark malt that reminds of Andechser’s bocks, and there’s some non-sublte grape, too. Clear dark copper body with a short head. Crisp light body is malty with toffee, earth, caramel, light roast, faint chocolate, sticky bocky grape, touch of brown sugar; a little dry and a little spicy with a little kick of alcohol – lots of little accents here and there, but a convincing synergy even if the overall feel is a little rough.

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, almost black, nice head. Starts malty, modest roasty, fine dry notes. Hints of liquorice, some earthy notes. Finish a bit milder, well balanced, dry-malty aftertaste. Nice!

(bottle) pours a slightly hazy deep amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of sweet spices and raisins, slightly sweaty in a good way, caramelized almonds, herbal hops and a light hint of smoke. flavour is mostly the same, sweet spices and bread dough, quite mellow, with some strawberries and the faintest hint of gently roasted malts. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

kiwianer (3315) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 29, 2012
The head is robust and the body is brown. The flavour is sweet, a bit dark-malty overall a bit mild. In the aftertaste it is also a bit citrus-herb. Could be more intensiv! 11/9/9/9/13/10

Idiosynkrasie (3242) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 8, 2013
500ml bottle. Clear mahagony colour with small, frothy, diminishing, off-white head. Grainy, bready, malt-spicy aroma, cautious hints of malt lozenge. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty with a genuine note like a mixture of black bread and treacle, dry overtones of grass, straw, reed. Somehow queer...

Dunkelbraun, weniger, grobporiger Schaum. Etwas dunkles Malzaroma und eine deutliche Metallnote. Im Geschmack leicht würzig, ziemlich dünn und kaum herb. Mäßig.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Der Antrunk ist sehr lecker röstmalzig. Im Nachgeschmack ists etwas bitter, jedoch wirkt es sehr angenehm und macht das Dunkle sehr ausgewogen. Lässt sich sehr angenehm trinken!

Erzengel (1912) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 2, 2013
