UPDATED: OCT 21, 2014 "i’m more a fan of the americanized irish reds, and this beer is why. it looks ok, and feels nice on nitro, but there is only the faintest hint of malt flavor in there."

Pint glass served from the tap. A: Pours a dark amber color forming a one finger white to yellow creamy bubbled head. Low retention and few lacings left T: Sweet. Mild smell of caramel malts. Bit grassy hops. Bit metallic T: Follows the nose. Strong taste if sweet caramel malts followed by the taste of grassy hops. Good bitter end. Bit metallic too D: Very light body. Low carbonation. Dry and bitter end. Good drinkability O: Good session ale. To be enjoyed in a British / Irish pub [ BA Review @ 5/19/2011 ]

The beer looks nice but taste wise it isn’t that special, expect a light sweet with a typical light beer taste, specially because the flavour disappears quite quick.

Zapach z butelki: Karmelowo-słodowy, z delikatnym orzechem. Piana: Średnio obfita, drobnopęcherzykowa, nietrwała, biała. Kolor: Klarowne bursztynowe. Zapach: Słodowy, gdzieś pomiędzy tostem, orzechem a karmelem. Smak: Średnio-niska podbudowa, nieco kwiatowej owocowości, dość wyraźne, lekko kwaskowe nuty karmelu. Tekstura: Średnio-niskie ciało. Nasycenie: Średnio-niskie. Goryczka: Średnia, nieco ziołowa. Pijalność: Średnia. Niezbyt ciekawe piwo.

The most easily available Irish red, with 19th-century roots. Snow white head, copperish colour, malty aroma of caramel and toasted bread, bit one-dimensional, caramelly taste with bitter finish and thin body. Enjoyable as a session beer but deserves more complexity.

30cl bottle @ home from local supermarket. Clear amber color, small creamy off-white average lasting good lacing head. Aroma caramel, malt, honey, watery, too moderated. Taste light to medium sweetness, light to medium bitterness, hint of sourness. Light body, thin texture, dry feel, soft carbonation, mostly diminishing bitter-sweet finish. Refreshing, easy, similar like a german brown land-/kellerbeer, not to exciting, however it was one of my favorite years ago.

Something weird with this beer. Litlle boring cause It have just a very low roasted malt taste that disaperars so fast, but I love his creamy body.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/29/2013. Pours slightly cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toast, brown bread, raisin, plum, pear, apple, light chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced bready malt, fruity yeast ester, and light hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, raisin, plum, pear, apple, light chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, raisin, plum, pear, apple, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice flavor balance and solid complexity of bready malt, fruity yeast ester, and light hop flavors; with solid robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very solid Irish red ale. Nice balance and solid robustness of bready malt, fruity yeast ester, and light hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasant and enjoyable offering.
