Draught at Gus O’Connor’s, Doolin. Clear deep amber-red with a small but regal white head. The aroma is of toasted malt, some caramel accent, biscuits. Flavour of toasted and caramel malts (mild) with a touch of honeycomb. Far from unpleasant--just uninteresting.

Malts, toast and a hint of dried fruits and nuts in the aroma. Amber with a white head. Medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Light to medium body with a average carbonation. Overall quite boring, but nothing wrong with it other than that.

Pint on tap. Pours clear red with a thin, off-white head. Aromas are failry mild: some caramel and bready malt and iron. Flavor begins mildly sweet, wtih some cereal grain, cooked vegetable, then quickly turns to herby hop bitterness that grows and lingers along with some iron. Medium body with a creamy(ish) mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, quafable, but nothing to write home about. Muted malt character, and fairly unbalanced bittterness without the hop flavor.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2014 "i’m more a fan of the americanized irish reds, and this beer is why. it looks ok, and feels nice on nitro, but there is only the faintest hint of malt flavor in there."

The beer looks nice but taste wise it isn’t that special, expect a light sweet with a typical light beer taste, specially because the flavour disappears quite quick.

Zapach z butelki: Karmelowo-słodowy, z delikatnym orzechem. Piana: Średnio obfita, drobnopęcherzykowa, nietrwała, biała. Kolor: Klarowne bursztynowe. Zapach: Słodowy, gdzieś pomiędzy tostem, orzechem a karmelem. Smak: Średnio-niska podbudowa, nieco kwiatowej owocowości, dość wyraźne, lekko kwaskowe nuty karmelu. Tekstura: Średnio-niskie ciało. Nasycenie: Średnio-niskie. Goryczka: Średnia, nieco ziołowa. Pijalność: Średnia. Niezbyt ciekawe piwo.
