3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nitro-can: Poured nice and slow, I have to say I love watching a slow pouring beer. It's really quite breath-taking actually (pinky to the side of mouth). Nice dark black color. Tan head, really creamy. Chocolate aroma. Not the same kick as another Irish dry stout I know of, but not bad.

Nice smooth stout with a rich dark chocolate/dark coffee flavor. Nice roasted nose. Very dark opaque liquid. Thin neat head.

Very drinkable Stout. Super smooth with nice clean taste. I can only purchase cans in my neighborhood, but have had on draught. I've never seen the bottles anywhere.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft: black color, slightly less than opaque, with a medium size tan head, a bit of lacing. Aroma has alcohol notes and some malt. Flavor is weak, with some butterscotch notes, and alcohol rather obvious. Palate was way too watery thin for this style. Just alright overall, don't care to try it again.

4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2004 I personally like this beer better than Guinness because it has a milder less bitter taste to it. It also retains the same trademark creamy head as Guinness

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2005 Rerate Not bad, just not worthy of a 3.9. Same description. Original 3.9 Widgeted induced can - typical widgeted induced pour with a thick creamy airy head. Nice black appearance. Bit of a roasted flavor to it. Detect slight coffee notes as well. Slight, sweet, chocolate aroma that I could detect. About on par with a Guinness.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2003 Mild aroma in a black body with an energetic head of light brown fine bubbles. Near the top of the head below the beer line a continuous flow of small bubbles can be observed. No carbonation in the taste and very smooth for a stout. Some coffee flavor but it is not overwhelming. Clinging vine lace adorns the side of the glass. It is a very nice smooth stout that I found myself liking more and more after each taste.

Near opaque balck with a solid light tan head. Fairly light and creamy. Touches of light grain and peat in the flavors. Only mildly dry.

A bit better than Guinness Stout. Soft and mild, with a beautiful lasting, soft head.

Pours a translucent black with a very creamy head. Very light body with an equally light hop presence. Much less roasty than other dry stouts.
