3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not much aroma, typical nitro pour with a thick, creamy head. Somewhat thin mouthfeel, but has a nice, mellow burnt taste and bitterness that I like. Worth a try.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2003 Not as good as Guiness, but sure it way up there. Nice black colour with a chocolate-white head. Nice chocolate aroma, and the flavour has distinct notes of chocolate as well. Finishes with a pleasent bitterness.

Features a thick creamy cappuccino-like head and is black with reddish hues. A coffee-espresso nose leads to notes of roasted barley and a drying finish. While Murphy’s seems slightly watery, it yields a full, roasted coffee/toffee flavor.

I used to really rate this beer - but that was before I had experienced the craft brewer stouts and, indeed, Guinness Foreign Extra. It is still very drinkable but is lacking in character.

Brilliantly thick and creamy head and body. Dry bitter taste that was the perfect end to a delicious steakhouse dinner.

This is very similar to Guiness in the bottle, I thought. Its a bit lighter, and a bit less bitter. I prefer Guiness over this, but this is a fine beer as well.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2003 Very dark with a medium creamy head. The aroma is chocolade, burnt and tobacco. The taste is creamy chocolade, slightly sweet with a slightly dry, bitter finish.
