3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Fibber Magee’s. The aroma features burnt biscuit, musty cardboard and old newspaper; it’s that typical nitro dry stout tinge that plagues many Irish-style pubs that likely rarely clean their draft lines. Pours flat black and is topped by a two-finger perfectly even tan head that hold ups for a millennium. There are precious few brews prettier than a properly poured Irish stout on nitro and this pint was just that. The taste is rather subdued: a roasted maltiness is the primary flavor with dry cereal grains, faint stake cocoa, more astringency than I prefer, and a touch of bitter almond. Light body with a extremely dry woodsy finish. Other than the appearance, it is a strikingly average example of the style.

Marrone scuro, praticamente nera, con riflessi color caramello, schiuma nocciola molto densa e persistente.
Aroma tostato e caramellato, liquirizia e leggeri frutti rossi.
Al palato stesse note con un retrogusto di "cappuccino" e liquirizia.
Corpo leggero, cremosa, poco carbonata.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
E’ una buona stout, che non spicca tra le altre irlandesi per gusto e sapore. Ma comunque ben fatta, piacevole a bersi.

Bevuta parecchie volte, molto meglio alla spina che un lattina. Forse come gusto risulta poco eqilibrato

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Old rating from 2007. 4.3% ABV bottle version. Black with a big creamy beige head. Soft aromas of coffee, toasted malt and chocolate. A hint of sweetness on the palate but very well-balanced. Body is a tad thin and not very complex, but still solid for the style. Smooth and clean dry finish.
