4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had this one at Lord Mike’s Pub in Amsterdam a few times. This really took me back as the first stout that really made me say “wow” that’s good beer. Since then I’ve had it a few times on draft and from widget cans. It is a smooth great dry stout. Pours very dark brown almost black with a lasting creamy tan lacy, thick head. Smells of dark and roasted malt, coffee and chocolate with some smoky elements. Eventually bits of dark berry comes out as it warms. Medium watery body that goes down very well. Very smooth but a little watery. It has elements of dark malt like a Mild and rather thin for a stout. Sweet with a bitter roast bitter finish. The roast is light with chocolate and coffee. Super drinkable and smooth.

Belo creme denso, castanho e bem formado. É fantástico ver o nitrogênio agindo para formar o creme.
Líquido negro e opaco.
Aroma de chocolate e malte torrado, caramelo doce. Delicioso!
Seca, lúpulo bem inserido, sem excessos. Café e chocolate aparecem bem.
A carbonatação baixa dá uma suavidade que faz a cerveja descer com uma bela fluidez.
Fundo com malte torrado bem evidente. E chocolate amargo.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
As with all Nitro Can Stouts, this one gets full points for appearance. Like it’s identical twin (Guinness) it’s creamy and balanced, but lacking in any real complexity. There’s Roasted Malt, a hint of coffee the faintest hint of hops and a slightly smokey finish. Exactly what I would expect in a mass produced Dry Stout and as such, I would prefer a good Imperial when I can get one.

the beer is light, altough sense of creaminess, nice mouthfeel, although very watery for an alcohol consumer.

Stout noir, mousse crémeuse et persistante.
Arôme de malt toasté et fumage.
On ressent la même chose en bouche, avec une certaine douceur. Peu d’amertume

On tap. Pours a very dark brown with moderate lightish tan head. Aromas of roasted malt/barley. Flavors of watery coffee, cardboard, nuts and dusty roasted malts. Light bitter finish. A classic surpassed by craft.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2014 $4.00 for the can consumed at State Street Cafe. I asked for the pint, and it unmistakably poured an oily Harry Potter hair jet-black, with which a sudsy, off-white head 2 fingers in length stood. Tastes and smells of roasted barley, aged hops, wet cardboard, denim jeans, DME, and London yeast. Charcoal and sweat experienced by swallow. Although creamy and smooth, it produced such bittersweet, stale flavors. Could be better, could be worse. Like everyone else, I prefer my Dry Stouts to have been brewed at Guinness.

15 oz can. Aroma is cream, dry roasty malts, some bread notes. Taste is creamy body with roasted malt with a slightly sweet note. Fairly subtle finish. Body is a dark amber/black with a thick creamy nitrogen head that retains very well. Pretty decent but didn't love it as much as other folks.
