Typical nitrogenized stout, with initial sandy looking cascades. Otherwise it’s black, and the one finger head is permanent. Roasted toffee and nut aroma. Basic dark malty taste, mainly coffee notes. Unfortunately overly light and watery, and not very dry. Preferable to the ’other’ Irish stout for flavor, thought not body.

Can. Faint aroma eith cocoa and coffee. All black with a small thick light brown foam. Taste has a lot of coffee and some chocolate. Malts dominate the taste. Low alcohol content shows but doesnt really matter. Really close to Guinness. Could be stronger.

One of my favorite stouts. Similar to Guinness, but with a nicer flavor profile. It has a mild slightly burned caramel finish is especially like. Not very thick or heavy, quite fresh for a stout. Too bad it’s very hard to get it over here.

Pours a black with a tan head. A strong coffee aroma and after taste. However, it is a little watery, similar to Guinness in the US.

Draught at Murphy’s promo in Beamish & Crawford. Pours a deep brown with a half-inch nitro head. No aroma due to the nitro, very slight hint of toast. Taste is mostly sweet (toasted malt, chocolate, a hint of cinammon) with a touch of coffee bitterness. A little thinner on the mouthfeel than one would expect, with a light sweet aftertaste. Not the worst of the macro Irish stouts, but nowhere near in the league of Beamish.

On tap @ Fleischers hotel, Voss. Pours brown, with a big creamy and lightly coloured head. Aroma is burned malts, caramel ad nuts. Body is full with a rather thin texture and soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with burned malts and dark chocolate, as well as nuts and some notes of molasses.

On tap, thick, creamy tan head and a dark brown appearance. Aroma is roasted malt, bread, a bit of coffee. Taste is thin, toasted malt, some chocolate. Somewhat unsatisfying.

Jet black nitro pour, with a velvety beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, peat, leather, fruity hop notes. A worthy adversary to Guinness.

Decent Stout, Corks most popular stout vs Dublin’s world famous Guinness. Enjoyable just like Guinness is.

Lättsam, tjock och krämig på samma gång. Smak och doft av humle, malt, mörkchoklad, nötter, en aning bränd. Lagom söt och med en trevlig beska.
