TINOZACCA (146), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Sep 25, 2005 The body is thinner than expected from a stout. But the appearance is great. A beautiful thick creamy head, witha gorgeous dark color. The aroma is thick with roast, cofee, and sweetness. The flavor is full from the very good palate feel. Flavors, of chocalate, caramel, and roast are excellent
Butters (308), Richmond, Virginia, USA Sep 2, 2008 Nitro can. Great black pour with a wonderfully creamy light brown head. Faint vanilla in the aroma, but not much else. Thin and creamy body. Leaves a bitter chocolate aftertaste. Not as good as guinness, but cheaper. madquacker (484), Canberra ACT, Australia Sep 2, 2008 Apperance can’t be faulted with a beaut head over a dark brown/ black. Nice balance of charcoal and licorice and enough to chew on without being too full bodied. robforbes (729), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 1, 2008 pours a very dark brown with a red tint when held up to the light, medium size creamy light tan head, excellent lacing.
smell of cocoa, roasted malt, touch of coffee.
taste is a creamy bakers and milk chocolate, roasted coffee, some sour malt, slight metallic on the first swallow which goes away, nice dry ending with some lingering bitterness. scrizzz (489), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 27, 2008 I do love me a cascading beer, but i’m tired of these beers spilling out of the opened tab before I can pour it. whatever. super dark brown, perfect head. smells of fleeting dark grain. the head has a buoyant and creamy texture and a palatable weight with a naked dryness that really adds to the experience. stronger roast than guinness (i still consider it the standard) with a lingering dry finish. jmikolich (352), Athens, Ohio, USA Aug 26, 2008 16oz can, im sorry but this deserves a perfect appearance, pours a beuatiful beer into my duvel tulip... absolutely stunning .. taste however is boring, like guinness no difference to me. meh, not bad...
