I tried this on tap at one of the local taverns in Fond du lac Wisconsin. The bartender in Irish's is kind of a dick, but anyways, The beer was dark almost black. Smelled very good and tasted even better. It was very creamy and chocolatety. It's like I always say, "I like beer."

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had from a can poured into a nonic pint at Three Blind Mice in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Price was $5.
Appearance: About what you’d expect from a can with a nitro widget... super creamy. Thick head. Pretty nice lacing. About black.
Smell: It... barely smells. Guinness has a faint chocolate and roasty note, and this smells like an ounce of chocolate in a bottle of water. There’s seriously almost nothing there.
Taste/feel: A very slight step up from Guinness. Guinness has a slightly more bitter flavor that I remember, and this is a touch sweeter. I feel like Guinness (strangely enough) manages to have MORE flavor, but I may prefer Murphy’s by a slight margin. Both have a thick and creamy mouthfeel. Decent beer, but nothing compared to many other stouts I’ve had before.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

Pours an opaque black with a light brown head that lingers and lingers. The nose is roasted chocolate malt. The palate is medium heavy body with chocolate malt and a light bitterness lighter than Guinness.

The smell of roasted malt and chocolate, a little bit bitter. The head is large, beige and milky-creamy with a long duration. The body is black. The taste is malty, roasted malt, quite bitter finish. The body is light to medium strong, very creamy with a soft carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours deep brown colour. Creamy beige head as known by the style. The aroma is bready with notes of coffey & caramel. Oily palate but light body. Low carbonation. Tastes pretty bitter with a hint of sweetness. Hoppy finish. Not bad. I’d rather prefer the Guinness rival because of the palate intensity.
