Drank from a can at home. The taste is slightly bitter with hints of caramel and metal. The head is guinnessy.

the beer is light, altough sense of creaminess, nice mouthfeel, although very watery for an alcohol consumer.

Stout noir, mousse crémeuse et persistante. Arôme de malt toasté et fumage. On ressent la même chose en bouche, avec une certaine douceur. Peu d’amertume

On tap. Pours a very dark brown with moderate lightish tan head. Aromas of roasted malt/barley. Flavors of watery coffee, cardboard, nuts and dusty roasted malts. Light bitter finish. A classic surpassed by craft.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2014 $4.00 for the can consumed at State Street Cafe. I asked for the pint, and it unmistakably poured an oily Harry Potter hair jet-black, with which a sudsy, off-white head 2 fingers in length stood. Tastes and smells of roasted barley, aged hops, wet cardboard, denim jeans, DME, and London yeast. Charcoal and sweat experienced by swallow. Although creamy and smooth, it produced such bittersweet, stale flavors. Could be better, could be worse. Like everyone else, I prefer my Dry Stouts to have been brewed at Guinness.

15 oz can. Aroma is cream, dry roasty malts, some bread notes. Taste is creamy body with roasted malt with a slightly sweet note. Fairly subtle finish. Body is a dark amber/black with a thick creamy nitrogen head that retains very well. Pretty decent but didn't love it as much as other folks.

Classic Irish dry stout tasted from tap. Tanned, creamy, very dense, milky head and near black colour. Looks the same as Guinness Draught and has the same thick creamy mouthfeel, but there is less iron in the aroma and more malty and fruity sweetness in the mouth, more apple- and chocolate-like; finish equally roasted bitter. On the same par as Guinness Draught, but I’d prefer Beamish.
