COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Murray’s Angry Man Pale Ale is a classic US pale ale. Australian, English and German malts balance the huge citrus/pine hop aroma and flavour strongly influenced by generous use of US Centennial and New Zealand Motueka and Pacifica hops. A brilliant light-golden colour, Murray’s Angry Man Pale Ale has a full-bodied finish and complex character. This is well balanced with biscuity/toffee flavours from selected caramalts.

Bottle. Pours a light golden straw with some hazing. Large billowy white head falls away relatively quickly. Flavours are quite subdued. Some citrus, biscuity malt a little yeast and very faint chlorine. Not to the point of being offensive but definately there. Flavours are pretty straight foward and not overly memorable to be honest. Some grain and the lightest resiny hop finish. OK

330ml bottle. Bright clear amber colour with a loose pillow of snowy white foam. There is some citrus in the aroma and the label says spicey but I could not detect this. Sweet in the mouth with a refreshing flavour.

Wayyy too fizzy, was burping after every sip. Foams up over the glass like dishwashing detergent has been added, and subsides almost as quickly. Tastes like pineapple, quite nice hoppy taste but can’t enjoy because of the bubbles.

A tasty beer but varies from store to store. Exploded out of my nose upon sipping. I also tried their Whale Ale. It also exploded like a poorly trained male porn star. Over carbonated? I think so.

Pours a yellow colour with a very tall frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, citrusy fruits and some spices. Taste is also sweet citrus with some light biscuit, toffee and caramel notes leading to a subtle, well balanced bitter finish. Good job!

Initially I liked this beer, but as it went on it was harder and harder work and as commented by others it is more than a bit over carbonated which is a shame. Pout is muddy orange with a foamy persistent white head. Aroma is a bit of spice and citrus which follows through to the palate once you chew through the bubbles. Finish is quite dry and long. Nice, but not Murray’s greatest (which is still better than most)

Pours a golden colour with a very hoppy aroma. Very tasty and dominated by the hops with a little honey. Angry man’s pale ale ( formally nirvana) is a very good beer all year round ( especially in summer) and is a great sessional beer

Pours hazy golden from the bottle with a massive head like a weizen beer. This beer is over carbonated by a country mile for a pale ale all this does is hide the wonderful flavours the brewer intended for us. It shows some hop, clove and citrus like aroma and some nice malt and hop flavours that are clean tasting and resonably fresh. It finishes quite well.

Very impressed with this. Like a stripped back Nirvana with dry structure and amazing herbal and nettle driven hops. Low malt impact, or at least subtle to my tastes. Hints of tropical fruit sweetness in the very back palate. It’s beers like this that serve as a very clear reminder that the beer geek needs to ease off on the bigger / whacky is better and instead focus on and encourage well crafted and super drinkable classics.

I hadn’t seen this beer from Murrays before, but i’ve always been impressed by their beers so I picked a bottle up. Definitely not dissapointed. The beer has a big fruit driven hop aroma with a great US pale ale type nose. plenty of hop flavour as well, I hope that this beer is a regular and will be available widely as I may have found my new go to beer.
