3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Bright clear amber colour with a loose pillow of snowy white foam. There is some citrus in the aroma and the label says spicey but I could not detect this. Sweet in the mouth with a refreshing flavour.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Dan Murphys (didn’t check the best before until I got home and it had gone past by about a month - guess I deserve that for going to Dan Murphys). Lovely clear amber pour with a large, fluffy white head on top. Aroma is light citrus and biscuit malts, all quite subdued. Light floral hops mingle with citrus hoppage. Slight nutty tone behind it all and backed by a sweet biscuity malt. Palate is cut short by a little over carbonation and fizz. Not bad but not like the reviews had promised. Will have to re-rate once I get my hands ona fresh bottle

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Yeast on in it poured a hazy, dull sandy orange with very, very fine carbonation. Big rocky white crown dwindles back a little to leave a thick web of lace. There is a lot going on in the aroma. Resinous, spicy, herbaceous and piney nose with licks of biscuity malt, peach, guava and blood orange, very nice indeed. First sip brings a mountain of flavour to the palate and gets the tastebuds all tingling. Drawn out sweetness of ripe citrus fruits, quite tangy and all piercing. Good, firm, meaty body with just enough spritz to give it bounce, the tail end being smooth, resinous and oily. Biscuity malt, fresh cracked toasted grain fill it out and tie in well. Herbaceous, slightly floral hops slip up into the olfactories on the swallow which is surprisingly tamer than expected. End is dry, not too much sticks around between sips. A hint of fruit bubblegum builds. This is pure evil. I could just keep drinking this, I can’t really fault it. Easily one of Oz’s best Pale ales! (33cL, BB 14/09/12, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)
