Murray's Grand Cru is a tripel made with an authentic Belgian yeast and pours a pale straw colour with a fluffy white head. Hints of banana and bubblegum, backed with dry-hopped spicyness of Hallertau hops, dominate the aroma and flavour, which is balanced by silky biscuity malt flavours. This intense ale finishes full-bodied with a mellow bitterness.

Poured a cloudy golden amber colour with a thin line of white bubbles for a head. Laced poorly. Low carbonation with small bubbles forming trails. Lots of yeast particles settled out and this detracted from the beer’s appearance. Aroma subtly of sour malt. Taste initially of sour malt and a trace of spicy hops but as the beer warms the flavour of cloves increases. Not as sweet as expecting. Light body. Not a beer I enjoyed.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2014 This is a great beer. I really enjoyed the flavour and the taste was light and it goes down easily.

Fruity aroma, hints of banana, pours golden orange. I normally don’t get into these but this was good. Lingering fruity flavours and a lift palette. Murray’s are doing some great work.

Amber coloured with a thin white head. Underwhelming aromas of banana, citrus and bubblegum. Despite the lack of aroma some great flavours abound, including bubblegum and banana on the front palate, leading into grapefruit and finally biscuit. Reasonably light bodied for a tripel and only the slightest hint of alcohol. Well balanced.

Draft at Beervana. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Aroma of mild citrus that was a bit overwhelmed by the barbecuing meat at the stall next door. Taste is sweet and sticky orange.

Being from England I have good access to a lot of Belgian trappist beers and I have to say this is pretty good still. Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Tastes of banana and a hint of alcohol, Very nice.

On tap at Murray’s in Manly, April 2013. Hazy gold with a slight white head. Light coriander notes, some spice, citrus fruits, grainy malts and a hint of bubble gum, before a gentle finish. Good.

Tap at the brew house. Pours a dark red with a small off white head. Nose is like a warhead so sour. Taste is horribly unbalanced too much sourness over powering everything else. Didn't enjoy this one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
