3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Hazy golden with very little head. Complex, but not very intense aroma, with spice, hops and orange. Medium body, medium carbonation, with a creamy texture. The flavour is complex and evolves as the beer warrms. There are sweet malts, orange, some spice (coriander, maybe clove) and enjoyable bitterness throughut the taste, starting spicey peppery and ending with dark chocolate notes on what is clearly hops. A rich, interesting, complex beer.

330ml, thanks to Chaosworrier
Fairly pale but murky pour, excellent spritzy carbonation, with incredible lacing, Aroma of alcohol and thin malt with hints of apricot, and black pepper.
palate is a little to heavy on the booze, coming off very dry in a alcohlic kind of way, if it were just toned down by0.5%ABV I think it would be a truly excellent beer. None the less, the best Aussie made Belgian style beer I have sampled.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted 26/08/2008. 330ml bottle shared with Sam and Steve in Invercargill. Rose gold. Complex spicy alcohols, some sweet fruit and candy sugar. Nicely drinkable, while also alerting you to its strength. Wish I’d had a little more than 100ml. I guess beers, like football (either one), does a little better on - or close to - home turf. This beer really stood up next the the relative disappointment of the Westvleteren and Struise brews tried on the same evening...

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma: sweeet malt, fruity and fragrant hop with some spice. Appearance: orange/brown and hazy with a good head that leaves suds lacing. Flavour: incredible malt and dried fruits balanced beautifully by fresh hop flavours and generous bitterness. Palate: thick and gently carbonated with a slightly dry finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
First off, well done to the folk at Murray’s for pulling off a great beer. This is a big stakes beer and a lot of Aussie Microbrewerys have tried stepping up to the Tripel plate and have struck out. The initial impression of this is a beer that has held back rather than going all out. The aroma is an interesting mix of banana, slight vanilla and some raisin/prune in the background. Flavour is a superb with a complex mix of spice stonefruits and firm but pleasant bitterness. Appearance is as expected, murky copper/amber with a nice white head that lingers. It does this and pulls off 8.8% without a trace of heat nor does it bombard with a degree of acridity that afflicts a lot of tripel knockoffs. Murray’s are building a formidable reputation (at least on me), look forward to seeing what’s next.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Murky gold body, dense white collar. Bit hit of wheat on the nose straightup, plenty of earthy spice, bitter orange-like citrus and ripe fruits, apricot, pear and banana seem prominant. Rich creamy texture, lively with carbonation, drying throughout revealing a bit of alcohol in the process. Fantastically complex body of flavour, plenty of corriander and clove spice, ripe apricot, peach, pear and banana in the works with a sharp orange citrus element competing with a smooth sweet wheaty maltiness. Finishes dry, with a sharp lingering spiciness. Probably doesnít compare that much to authentic Belgian tripels, still bloody nice and richly complex. Fantastic.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted from 33cl bottle into tulip glass.
Modest nose, 1.5cm head, pours a dark gold.
Thick herbal tones like an adult marshmallow.
After letting it sit a little, a stronger fragrance is released, now that of a mild perfume of sweet apples. End notes are bitter yet maintain the full flavour with roasted malt showing through.
