Sledge Jr (2721), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Nov 25, 2006 On tap at the Pub With No Beer. Pours a pale yellow with a big thick dense white head. Enormous bubble gum sweetness to the aroma. In addition, straw and banana emerge from the heavy esters. The flavor mimics these aromas as well. This is served in a traditional Belgian tulip glass and is completely satisfying after spending a week drinking mass-produced Australian pale lagers. The people at this famous bar were some of the nicest that we met in a country full of incredibly nice people. You must visit this place. gam (618), brisbane, Australia Jun 15, 2008 Thin frothy head head, though strong on an orange pour, good carbonation.Aroma orange, cinnamon, apricot, clove and peach.Flavour creamy, mellow clove coriander, banana, orange peel, peach, hint of apricot.Flavours knock the alcohol volume,it has a lovely bitter to it.Finish is bitter, mellow creamy full flavoured. winkle (442), Brisbane, Australia Sep 18, 2008 Off keg: Poured a hazy dull gold with a small lasting head and good lacing. Aroma is slightly under stated, but good with spice, orange and alcohol notes. Rich body with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, maybe verging on the slightly too sticky. Complex flavours - orange, malty and spicy with a good balance from the hops. Most enjoyable. Choos (483), Taylors Hill, Australia Aug 3, 2008 Aroma: sweeet malt, fruity and fragrant hop with some spice. Appearance: orange/brown and hazy with a good head that leaves suds lacing. Flavour: incredible malt and dried fruits balanced beautifully by fresh hop flavours and generous bitterness. Palate: thick and gently carbonated with a slightly dry finish. Pyobon (178), Sydney, Australia Aug 29, 2008 Bottle. Hazy golden with very little head. Complex, but not very intense aroma, with spice, hops and orange. Medium body, medium carbonation, with a creamy texture. The flavour is complex and evolves as the beer warrms. There are sweet malts, orange, some spice (coriander, maybe clove) and enjoyable bitterness throughut the taste, starting spicey peppery and ending with dark chocolate notes on what is clearly hops. A rich, interesting, complex beer.
