3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dredd (638) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - MAR 23, 2013
Pour is impenetrable black with dark tan head. Aroma is predominantly chocolate malts. Flavour is oily dark malts with a texture that is light and fluffy despite the high ABV. Finish is very long with hints of vanilla and moderate bitterness. expected something more challenging but us quite pleasant. Another winner from the Murrays folk.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (6669) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Major thanks to Josh for the bottle! Poured deep brown with an easily-resuscitated, tight-bubbled dark tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasted oak, brighter earthy and fruity character, and sweet dates over sweeter, roasty chocolates and deeper vanilla bean.. coconut right on the back of the nose.. the Belgian yeast kind of took over. The flavor found roasted black and lesser chocolates malts at the core, with a lot of dark fruit and peppery yeast plus toasted coconut laced throughout.. a lot more coconut and fairly sharp oak on the slightly grainy finish. Medium-bodied and a bit sharp on the palate.. the Belgian yeast did give some interesting character, but it also gave sharpness and tartness that didn’t work as well.. aiight overall.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fletchfighters (817) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 27, 2012
A-- Poured motor oil black with touches of lighter cola black (makes no sense really). Settled black and had to coax a one finger head light brown head with swirling. Once got that the head hung around a good while. Some decent lacing on the sides of the glass.
S-- Lots of dark fruits, molasses, dark Belgian chocolate and some hints of oak and vanilla. First thought needs more oak.
T-- Lots of Belgian chocolate, yeast, and dark fruits. Changed halfway through drinking to more of a fruity RIS as got green apple and lighter style fruits. Got a bit sweet for me.
M-- Medium feel and medium carbonation. Not as much roast as Wild Thing. More about dry chocolate. Did get Oak in the finish as it finished quite dry. Got very one dimensional.
O-- Needs more Oak. First half was quite good but second half was very MEH. Got too sweet and too much chocolate. Nothing to balance it out. Better than the non oaked version though.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bluebetty (1019) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 17, 2012
Bottle. Pours jet black with dense tan coloured head. Nice lacing as it falls away. Aromas of toasted grains, dark dark chocolate and some alcohol. Not getting much from the wood to be honest. Flavours show lots of raosted character with a decent whack of alcohol on the finish. Once again dont really get anything from the wood.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 tkrjukoff (3360) - SWEDEN - JUN 16, 2012
Bottle 33 cl, Slowbeer. Pours brown black with a small brown head. Aroma is dry roasted malty pears fruity slightly smokey and vanilla, but more mated and in balance compared to the original one. Flavor is velvety roasted bitter chocolate and peppery in front, more sweet and fruity chocolate and coffee in middle and towards the end with a nice touch of vanilla and dill. Not too heavy and drinkable. Finishes with a longlived bitter dry peppery aftertaste.

Bottle, thanks to tkrjukoff. Fruity roasted aroma, chocolate, pear, licorice, some cocoa powder. Chocolate flavor, woody, spicy, chilli, a bit too much spices. Bitter finish with chocolate and chilli.
