4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 eczematic (1304) - Sydney, - SEP 25, 2011wow a really delicious and surprisingly subtle beer. chocolatey and winey at once, sort of like marsala, plenty of nice leafy but not overly zingy hops supporting a long and dry finish - not a sweet impy at all, but not ridiculously bitter either, subtly phenolic and again marsala-like in aftertaste, with some pleasant toastiness from the wood. not usually a fan of oak aged beers but here it works well. perhaps just lacking in a really knockout aroma to score higher for me.
4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Gramoit (251) - AUSTRALIA - APR 17, 2013
Been aging for close to a year. Top class Imperial Stout this one. Pours jet black, with a chocolate head without a massive nose but hints of chocolate, coffee and some vanilla on the side. Taste includes lots of dark chocolate. Good!!
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kosmokrator (291) - ITALY - MAR 20, 2013
Corpo medio, struttura oleosa, gusto pieno; meritevole!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 lliams (86) - Hawthorn, AUSTRALIA - MAR 14, 2013
it sure is dark! i would love to see how this beer ages as this young one has a touch too much gas for me to score any higher... still, the best beer i’ve tried this week, so far
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 davidfoley (20) - New York, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Appearance - Low head retention, light brown hue to head, dark brown colour, moderate carbonation
Smell - Chocolate, blackcurrant, cherry, malty, floral, alcohol presence
Taste - Fruit and dark berries, under-ripe cherries, over ripe plums, sweet, dried fruit, raisins, cognac like alcohol presence, slightly tart fruitiness. Bitterness in finish.
Mouthfeel - Lacks body, moderate carbonation, heavy fruit and alcohol
Drinkability - Heavy beer, doesn’t sit well, lacks body
Overall - Unbalanced, too tart. Drinkable beer, good in ways, but has it’s flaws

11th March 2012 Opaque brown - black beer. Short tan head. Surprisingly crisp palate. Rich dark malt with a trace of roast. Minerals. Coffee. Subtle fruits underneath. Tangy dark malt before a crispy dry finish. Lingering licorice bitter aftertaste. Decent and quite light on it’s toes.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2013
Small brown head. Opaque black body. Spicy perfumy chocolatey aroma with linoleum and cardamom notes. Dry-sweet cardamom and chocolate taste with spicy mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dry spicy papery cardamom afteraste with chocolatey earthy notes. Nice, but a bit spicy. (0.33l bottle at Schouskjelleren, Oslo.)

Shared 330ml bottle at Schouskjelleren. Beige layer at the top of a deep dark body added by ruby highlights. Dotted spots down the glass. Dark malty nose, lots of cocoa powder. Fine balanced taste profile of chocolate, cocoa, anise and herbal hops. Dry, dark bitter ending. Crisp in the mouth. Well bodied. Tasty (Oslo, 10.12.2012).
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 IlBevitorediLA (451) - ITALY - DEC 14, 2012
Nera con riflessi rossi. Schiuma marroncina. Aroma di cioccolato a tratti zuccherino. Alcolica. Inbocco strano. Zucchero di canna, alcol, liquore di cioccolato e malti tostati. Presente il luppolo. Finale addirittura fruttato che ricorda la frutta rossa con una buona persistenza. Originale e ben fatta.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gr0ve (2038) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 6, 2012
330 ml bottle. Very dark brown colour. Slightly funky spicy aroma with notes of white pepper and Belgian abbey yeast. Rich malty flavours with toffee and port. Slightly vinous. Caramel and chocolate. Interesting crossover beer, a nice mix of abbey beers and imperial stout. Very cool label.
