3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BeerChaser0078 (846) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 26, 2009
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a short white head that quickly shrinks to surface cover. Aroma and flavour are pretty similar: hoppy with notes of citrus, yeast, bubblegum, malt, clove, tropical fruit and a little sweet spiciness. Mouthfeel is slick and dry with some mid-palate sweetness and a medium to long bitter finish. A very good example of what a pilsner should be like. The guys at Murrays certainly know what they’re doing.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bluebetty (820) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 5, 2009
Poured a lovely slightly cloudy ornage with a smallish white head. Lots of hops on the nose with the typical US hop variety aromas. Lots of citus & pine / resinous type aromas. Flavour is once again about the hops with a little malt quite late. Quite a good beer
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nicko (191) - Ashfield, AUSTRALIA - JUN 12, 2009
Bottle, poured with a massive frothy head, opaque orange body. I liked this one, despite having a somewhat muddled definition of what a pilsener is, thanks to the liberal over (mis)use here of the word. Sweet floral saaz aromas, and nice bitterness too.

Bottle. Pours a darker golden with a lively white head. The aroma is extremely floral with grapefruit, berries, lychee, melon and citrus notes, and biscuit malt thrown in as well. Very nice! The flavour is biscuit and beautiful tropical fruit as expressed by the aromatics. Extremely crisp and refreshing, this one is very quaffable! Medium bodied and good carbonation. Hoppy, bitter finish. This pils is spot on.

Bottle. Hefty hop punch in aroma, grass and citrus. Some grains too. Good stuff. Taste is bitter, some malt sweetness, lager and notes of sulphur. Good stuff! Very good interpretation of the style. I like!
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Davros (919) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 11, 2009
Pale amber, approaching straw, with a huge head, that shows great persistence.
Very clean, grassy, floral and lemony aroma. Some very light sweet malt in the background. I would have liked more spicy hops.
Flavour is quite similar (lemon/grapefruit/passionfruit and some sweet biscuity malt) but also shows more of a spicy character, and is followed by a decent clean hoppy bitterness.
Too much carbonation, but otherwise pretty bloody good!

Tasted 30/02/2009. 330ml bottle courtesy of Highlandlad - cheers. Yeasty bitter pilsner, in a similar vein as Moa Original (though a lot fruitier and slightly sweeter). Lemony hop aroma, subdued hop flavour of sub-tropical fruit, good bitterness, yeast fills out mouth. Distinctive and fresh. Yum!

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Light lemon on the nose. A cleansing palate with citrus orange and toffee malt flavours. Yeasty like the other Murrays brews (which is a little unusual in a pilsner). All up, a good pilsner.
