highlandlad (1203), Sydney, Australia Jun 30, 2008 A heavy-duty pilsener that packs a lot of punch for its 4.8% abv. It’s the sort of beer that will rattle the tastebuds of the average Crown/VB drinker, and that’s no bad thing. As Ecze says, there’s a glorious bouquet of NZ Saaz. Quite tart in a lactic passionfruit yoghurt sort of way. Some gooseberry greenness. There’s the faintest whiff of the sulphur that some people find unpleasant in Kiwi-style pilseners but not enough to spoil the experience. Overall, it’s very summery and inviting. Doesn’t really prepare you for the "size" of the flavours. This delivers a big slug of bitterness for an Aussie pilsener. Tastes like a much "bigger" beer. Quite a chewy palate for the style. Big phlegmy citrus-and-spice finish. Lots of Saaz passionfruit and gooseberry. Can’t think of another Aussie pilsener as flavoursome as this. Murrays continues to kick goals with every new release.

MBison (445), Southern Highlands, Australia Oct 16, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Poured golden with a good sized, rocky, off-white head which lasted very well. Massive grassy/fruity hop aroma with strong notes of kiwifruit, passionfruit, sweet biscuity and some zesty citrus notes. Flavour was a good spicy hop bitterness with dry biscuity malts, lemon citrus, kiwifruit, lychee, a touch of honey and a dry/grassy finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, a dry hoppy mouthfeel and a long lasting hoppy finish. Very well balanced, lots of body for the moderate alcohol content. gam (618), brisbane, Australia Oct 12, 2008 Pale say straw colour, misty, strong carbonation, big frothy head.Aroma hoppy spice and citrus, malt nose, good.Flavour citrus spice, very intense hop taste, delicious, has a nice bitter that lingers so plesant,a real thirst quencher as well. The malt is mellow smooth,a yeasty taste, finish superb hops bitter sweet. kenbeer (28), , Australia Oct 9, 2008 This was a very welcome pilsner on a hot afternoon. hazy appearance, Fruity nose and nicely bittered. Hazy orange colour with huge fluffy white head. Big citrus hoppy aroma with citrus and grass mouthfeel. Mild hop bitterness. bluevegie (1819), Perth, Australia Sep 11, 2008 Clear golden body with mainly lasting head. Lovely hop aroma which is still there in the taste but balanced well with the malt, yes this is a good pilsner and Murrays are building a good reputation for crafting beers.
