Slightly hazy blond. Aroma of grassy, pee hop. Lots of bitterness, balanced thin malt. The hop is quite heavy-handed.

bottled, at the old sando in newtown. much paler than a czech pils and surprisingly bright with a quickly disappearing head; aroma of self-raising flour and white grape with only the faintest hint of saaz; some tropical flavours - pineapple and lychee; with a soft grassy bitter finish; a pretty loose interpretation of a pilsener but pleasant drinking nonetheless

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Murrays pub, Manly March 2012. Golden with a slight whit head and moderate fizz. Aroma of hay, tropical fruits and a touch of sweet malt. Flavour had more fruit, a touch of jarring butter, leading to a decent bitter finish. Overall, good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden body with mainly lasting head. Lovely hop aroma which is still there in the taste but balanced well with the malt, yes this is a good pilsner and Murrays are building a good reputation for crafting beers.

Tap. Gold with a medium white head. Delicate floral aroma with a some bready grain, a little pepper and lemon. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Light grainy malt is moderately sweet with a little lager sourness. Modest bitterness. Neither particularly bold or crisp, but OK.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I feel jipped as this one wasn’t exactly in fine form though I managed a fresh bottled sample. It produced up a misty, sandy, orange gold with little life at all. Head a tight wafer of white that receded completely after just a minute. Grassy, granola, hay-bale and freshly toasted malt mix on the nose with just a hint of lemon zest and creamed honey. Dusty, powdery mouthfeel, quite buttery with a pronounced honey on toast flavour coming through. Very light bodied with minimal bitterness and low floral, herbal hops in late. A perfume musk lingers gently between sips. Not altogether the tightest or cleanest Pilsner. One for a re-rate on draught at some stage would be great. (33cL, BB 13/12/14, BWS Willeton)

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Light lemon on the nose. A cleansing palate with citrus orange and toffee malt flavours. Yeasty like the other Murrays brews (which is a little unusual in a pilsner). All up, a good pilsner.

I’m a bit iffy on the condition of this, as there wasn’t too much in the hop presence, but lots of honey and biscuit malts. Full bodied. Nice lacing. Good easy drinking but not too pilsnerish.
