Made in the traditional Brown Porter style from selected roasted malts dark ale is full bodied, rich and complex. Pouring with a deep ruby colour and creamy off-white coloured head, an aroma of caramel and bittersweet chocolate, which follows through in the flavour with a balanced bitterness.

Draught fresh from the keg. Labeled as ’Dark Knight’. I guess this is the same beer the Mad Quacker has rated below. The little brother of the Best Extra Porter, this more subtle porter is good in it’s own right. Aroma and flavour of chocolate malt and caramel. Soft carbonation and finishes dry and bitter. Nice beer.

Assuming this is the same thing as the "Dark Knight" a good solid black beer. Quite mellow and easy to drink.

A typically well-made brown porter from one of Australia’s best brewers. I’ve yet to taste a dud from these guys - and that’s pretty rare from a new(ish) brewer. This one was Cola black with another great, lasting head. Sweet malty aroma of dark chocolate and coffee beans. Bit fizzy but acceptable for the style. Very sweet and clean-flavoured. Chocolate, some dryness in the finish. A beer that doesn’t ask much of the drinker but does its job well. (Draught at the Australian Hotel beerfest 2007)

On tap at the Pub With No Beer. Pours a dark brown with a white head. This lovely has a big chocolate flavor. The smoke aroma is slight, but definitely present. I don’t get any smoke flavor out of this, though. This is a very thick bodied beer and the chocolate rich palate is very impressive. Delicious beer from incredibly friendly people.
