COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
""""Inspired by the great stouts favoured by Russian Imperial Court, Murray’s “Wild Thing” Imperial Stout is a beer fit for a Czar. A massive, intense drinking experience. The colour is black. Totally black. The heart of darkness. Impossible to see through even when held up to the light – nothing insipid about this beer. Aromas of strong dark chocolate, a little fruitiness from the hops and yeast and some rumminess from the alcohol. The flavour is an intense hit of mocha – bitter dark chocolate bordering on coffee. Some malt sweetness but an aggressive hop bitterness and roast grain bite to balance. And then there’s the mouthfeel… Full bodied is an understatement. Massive mouthfillling malt that almost overwhelms, before the freight train of the bitterness from the hops and the roast acidity kicks in to clean up the palate. A tiny batch of a huge beer – only 1100 bottles brewed. A beer to savour if you dare!""""

Bottle at home from my GBBF haul .... deep black ... small brown head ... soft open light pine hop and dark roast malt nose ... big meaty malt roast .. big pine hop ... but not over powering ... juicy body ... really quite nice ...

Pours black with a large, lasting dark tan head. Nose shows dark chocolate, resinous hops, oatmeal and wood notes with solid roasted malt backing. Very big, powerful flavours, lots of piney, resinous hops throughout, with cocoa and chocolate fudge showing up only momentarily. Boozy finish, but not over the top or hot. Pretty bloody good but a little over-hopped for my liking. Nice syrupy body, carbonation seems just a little high.

Tap. Black-ruby body with a huge dark brown head. Aroma-taste-chocolate, molasses; dried fruits, woody-earthy with a spicy hop background taste and aroma with a sweetish body, but a mouth filling lingering bitter finish. Mediunm to full bodied. Excellent.

Bottle, shared at Skyview Tasting, April , 2011. Black and low carbonation. There is alcohol in the flavor and aroma. Also, soy sauce and lots of roasted malt. Chocolate as well. Some sediment, which works well for the palate. Very rich. A good beer

(Bottle) Opaque shiny black with hint of coffee brown head. Rich sweet aroma of chocolate with a hint of licorice. Full bodied, even sticky, with modest but fine carbonation. Intense flavour of bitter burnt toffee and dark chocolate with a bitter finish. An extraordinary beer but quite challenging and not for everyday consumption.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and wood, leading to a lightly astringent, dry, woody, and alcoholic finish.

Thick, black tar pour with a small brown ringlet. Sweet, cloying touch to the nose. Mocha flavour - very nice beer.
