""""Inspired by the great stouts favoured by Russian Imperial Court, Murray’s “Wild Thing” Imperial Stout is a beer fit for a Czar. A massive, intense drinking experience. The colour is black. Totally black. The heart of darkness. Impossible to see through even when held up to the light – nothing insipid about this beer. Aromas of strong dark chocolate, a little fruitiness from the hops and yeast and some rumminess from the alcohol. The flavour is an intense hit of mocha – bitter dark chocolate bordering on coffee. Some malt sweetness but an aggressive hop bitterness and roast grain bite to balance. And then there’s the mouthfeel… Full bodied is an understatement. Massive mouthfillling malt that almost overwhelms, before the freight train of the bitterness from the hops and the roast acidity kicks in to clean up the palate. A tiny batch of a huge beer – only 1100 bottles brewed. A beer to savour if you dare!""""

33 cl. bottle split - thx. to Kraddel / Dylan. Finally an Australian beer - it sure took a while and I know that I could have just gotten a Fosters but Australia supposedly has good craft beer and I wanted to try a good one. For some reason Catwoman is pictured on the label - looks pretty stupid. Black with a nicely lacing brown head. This is quite hoppy stuff, fresh bottle - lots of NZ hops in here, kiwi, white grapes, litchi, damn, also mocha, chocolate and booze - colour me intrigued. Light round roast taste, bitter, much heavier mocha, chocolate, quite bitter with still some NZ hops, lighter than in the nose, lots of ice coffee, still pretty damn hoppy, oily nuts - medium oily bodied - an interesting one that is for sure - Australia I salute thee

Pouts thick and black with a small brown head. Nose is massive chocolate, little vanilla, some coffee and light grass. Taste is bitter with a decent malt backbone. Great balance. Mouthfeel is heavy, crisp and has a long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really is the best from Murrays and one of my favourite beers. The flavour balance is near perfect for this style. good mix of alcohol warmth smooth creamy dark chocolate and bitter espresso. nice uplifting fruitiness on the nose that compliments a rich chocolate aroma. great beer.

Pours deep black with a rich, coffee brown head. Cocoa powder aroma. Sweet, sharp and light up front, dissipating into a medium heavy, smooth, flatly carbonated dark chocolate bitter finish. Big alcohol is warming but not detectable in taste. Excellent.

330ml bottle. Pours as black as coal and just as thick. Great dense coffee coloured head and big rich chocolate aroma with vanilla and aniseed. Thick in the mouth and oh so good. This is all beer and more.

Squealer on a stormy September night. Pours like jet black oil with a large fluffy mocha head. An amazing aroma of chocolate with a slight hop fruitiness and vanilla essence notes.. WOW. Firstly i get an alcohol warmth on the tongue and then that amazing chocolate flavour followed by a lingering bitter espresso hit. What an amazing beer.

A-- Poured black, almost ink black. Dark one finger brown sugar head that slowly faded away. Just a touch over film when it finished settling. Really good head retention to this when swirling. Imposing looking beer. S-- Dark and thick. Dark chocolate, coffee and sugar. Very straightforward. T-- Coffee, baking chocolate and more chocolate. Once again very straightforward. M-- Thick and rich but and a bit of acidic coffee finish. Lots of bitter chocolate and coffee but at times gets a little thin. It works well though. Do get the occasional vanilla flash. Think it is still developing though. ABV is very well hidden. Low carbonation and heavy feel. Finishes a bit dry. O-- Real good RIS. Best to age it though
