Clear dark red with a diminishing tanned head. The aroma is sweet spicy with cloves being most dominant. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter/spicy, long duration. Medium body, soft carbonated, watery/oily. It tastes of Christmas, but not in balance.

Very dark - nearly black with little film head. Aroma is sweet with some cinnamon and liquirice. It has a homebrew feel and is quite thin in palate. It is okay but a tad inconsistent in its mixture.

Bottled. (BB-date: 060430) Copper in color, and a nice beige head. Spicy aroma with ginger, cloves and other spices related to Christmas. Some alcohol too. The flavor is spicey too, reminiscent of that of a gingerbread-man, along with maltyness. A spicey, but quite harmonic beer. Dry bitter finish. (060428)

Bottle at ZBF. Thanks to the Danes - Jacob, Martin and Martin for bringing this. Appearance is cloudied brown with a small tan head. Nose is spicy (ginger and cinnamon), almost like a Christmas cookie. Light sweet malts and a touch of cocoa as well. Taste is rather heavy on the spices with light caramel notes and some sweet malts. Body is light with a medium carbonation feel. Finishes, again, with a big spice profile. it seemed to be dominating this beer a bit too much.

Funky brown colour, little off-white rim. Cloves, cinnamon, star aniseed & other X-mas decoration herbs. Spicey taste, some malts underneath but the cloves, cinnamon and the rest (actually, tasting closer this is 100% 5 spices Chinese style) overpower all. Very watery texture for 7.2 % ABV ? Well - for accompaning the N° 72 (that’s the Chlistmas velsion of the Duck with cashew nuts without lice).

Bottle (ZBF06): Ruby amber with a tan dark head. Nice spicy nose with cinnamon and ginger. Flavour has balanced molasses, liquorice and blended spices. Quite drinkable.

Nice brown beer with a warm glow and a light brownish creamy froth. Aroma is malty with nut aroma’s touches of cinnamon and licorice. The taste is malty with nutty accents, also touches of soft asian dessert spices and the beer has a slight fruity touche in the finale.
